A quick guide on how to display and switch slideshows on your office TVs to see your dashboards, notifications, contests, and other media.
Connect your Plecto slideshow to a smart device. All you need is to open Plecto on your TV and add an activation code in Plecto to connect a slideshow.
Activate your TV with a four-digit code
To display a slideshow on a smart TV, you can activate it with a four-digit code.
- Open http://tv.plecto.com/ on your smart TV.
- Get your computer and open Plecto. Go to Visualization > Slideshows > Activate TV. All further steps are done from this page.
- Choose the slideshow you want to add to the TV.
- Enter the four-digit code you see on your TV screen (from step 1).
- Name your device under “TV name.”
- Click “Activate TV” to finish.
Activate with a QR code
You can also activate the smart TV by scanning a QR code with your phone. This option allows you to save time in case you need to connect slideshows to multiple devices, as you do not have to manually input the four-digit code on each separate device.
Be aware: You need to be signed in to the Plecto app on your mobile phone or logged in from your mobile browser to succeed.
- Open the http://tv.plecto.com/ page on your smart TV. You will see a QR code at the bottom of the page.
- Scan the QR with the camera app (iOS) or the QR code scanner (Android) on your phone.
- A notification “Open ‘app.plecto.com‘ link” will appear on your phone.
- Click the notification – it will redirect you to the Activate TV page.
- You can now see the four-digit code is already there. Now choose the slideshow you want to show on the TV and give your TV a name.
- Click “Activate TV” to finish.
Once your device is activated, Plecto will remember it and display your slideshow automatically.
Tip: If you have LG or Samsung TVs in your office, you can install the Plecto TV apps to make displaying slideshows on TVs easier.
Switch slideshows on TV
If you want to show a different slideshow than the one displayed currently, you can deactivate the TV from your account and activate it again with another slideshow:
- Open Plecto and click on the employee name in the bottom-left corner to open account settings.
- The section “My devices” displays all the devices connected to this account. To remove a device, click “X” in its top-right corner.
- Click “Save” to finish.
- You can now repeat the activation steps and activate your TV with a different slideshow.

Recommended devices
We recommend using modern and updated browsers such as Google Chrome or Safari when viewing slideshows on a PC or casting them on a TV.
- If you use an LG TV, we recommend newer LG models with minimum webOS 3.5.
- If you have a Samsung TV, then the Tizen operating system should be over 2.3.
Install the Plecto App on LG TV
To install the Plecto app on your LG TV:
- Open the LG Content Store on your TV.
- Find the Plecto app in the “Life” category or search for “Plecto” in the search bar.
- Install the app and open it on your Smart TV.
- Activate the TV with a 4-digit pin or a QR code displayed on your TV screen.
The TV will now be redirected to the selected slideshow and display the dashboards and notifications with increased performance compared to viewing the slideshows on the built-in browser on your TV.
Install the Plecto App on Samsung TV
You need to have a Samsung account and be signed in to install the Plecto TV app on your smart TV.
In addition, the minimum version of the Tizen operating system required for the app to run on your Samsung TV is 2.3.
To install the Plecto TV app on your Samsung TV:
- Press the home button on your TV remote and go to Apps.
- Click on the search icon in the upper-right corner, then type “Plecto” in the search bar. Alternatively, you can find the Plecto app in the Lifestyle category in Samsung Apps.
- Click “Install,” then “Open” to open the Plecto app.
Note: If you do not have a Samsung account or have not signed in on your TV, the TV will ask you to sign in to continue installing the Plecto app.
Activate a slideshow on your TV
Once you have installed and opened the Plecto TV app on your Samsung TV, it will now display the Plecto TV page. To activate your TV, you can use a four-digit code or a QR code. To use the QR code, you need to sign in to Plecto from an internet browser on your mobile device.

Follow the instructions on your TV screen to continue activating your Samsung TV.
- If you want to connect a slideshow to your TV with a four-digit code, open Plecto’s Activate TV page on your computer, select a slideshow you want to display on the TV, insert the four-digit code displayed on your TV screen, and give your TV a name. To finish, click on “Activate TV.”
- If you want to connect a slideshow to your TV with a QR code, open the camera app (iOS) or QR code scanner (Android) on your mobile device and point it at the QR code displayed on the TV screen. A notification will appear on your mobile device. Click on the notification, and it will redirect you to the Activate TV page. The four-digit code will already be filled out. All you have to do is select a slideshow and give your TV a name. To finish, click on “Activate TV.”
