How To Activate PS5 as Primary : How to enable PS5 Console Sharing and Offline Play

You can activate Console Sharing and Offline Play on one PS5 console as Primary at a time. If you enable the setting on a new PS5 console, the Console Sharing and Offline Play setting on your other PS5 console will be disabled.

When you enable console sharing and offline play, anyone who uses your PS5 console can:

• Play your games and media even when the console is offline
• Play games and media you’ve purchased and downloaded
• Enjoy some benefits of your PlayStation Plus membership, such as online multiplayer and Game Help

How To Activate PS5 as Primary :

You can enable Console Sharing and Offline Play on one PS5 console at a time. If you enable the setting on a new PS5 console, the Console Sharing and Offline Play setting on your other PS5 console will be disabled. Other users on the disabled console won’t be able to play your games and media.

The primary PS4 activation restriction is unaffected by PS5 Console Sharing or Offline Play.

PS5 Console Sharing and Offline Play is automatically enabled on the PS5 console you use to sign in to PlayStation™ Network for the first time.

1. Go to Settings > Users and Accounts > Other > Console Sharing and Offline Play
2. Select Enable

Disable PS5 Console Sharing

1. Go to Settings > Users and Accounts > Other > Console Sharing and Offline Play.
2. Select Disable.

PS5 Console Sharing and Offline Play limits

• You can enable Console Sharing and Offline Play on one PS5 console at a time.

PS5 Console Sharing and Offline Play does not affect your other console activation limits.

How to remotely deactivate all consoles 

Using Account Management in a web browser, you can sign out of all of your PlayStation devices even if you don’t have access to a PlayStation console.

You can only deactivate your consoles once every six months.

1. Sign in to Account Management.
2. Select Device Management > PlayStation Consoles > Deactivate All Devices.

Please note, PlayStation Video cannot be remotely deactivated and you’ll need to do this on the console itself. If you no longer have access to the console linked to PlayStation Video, please contact us.

How to activate a primary PS4 console

Each player can have one PS4 console activated as the primary PS4 console for their account.

1. Go to Settings > Account Management > Activate as Your Primary PlayStation 4.
2. Select Activate.

Activate PS3 console

There are no primary activations on PS3 consoles.

1. Select your local user account and go to PlayStation Network > Sign-in > Account Management.
2. Go to System Activation and highlight “PS3”
3. Select the type of content you want to activate your PlayStation 3 console to use
4. Select Activate System
5. You will see a message to confirm that your device is now activated or to let you know that you have already reached your activation limit for the content type.

Activate PS Vita/TV

There are no primary activations on PS Vita/TV.

1. On your PS Vita system tap Settings > PlayStation Network > System Activation.
2. Select the type of content you want your PS Vita to use – Games or Video.
3. Tap Activate > OK.
4. You will see a message to confirm that your device is now activated or to let you know that you have already reached your activation limit for the content type.
