Independence Day Message in Malayalam : രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ 73 -ാമത് സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യ ദിനാഘോഷങ്ങൾക്കൊരുങ്ങി നിൽക്കുകയാണ് നമ്മള്‍. 1947 ഓഗസ്റ്റ് 15 ന് ഇന്ത്യ ബ്രിട്ടിഷ് ഭരണത്തില്‍ നിന്നും സ്വതന്ത്രയായി. ഇന്ത്യൻ സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തിന് ഒരു പ്രത്യേകതയുണ്ട്. അര്‍ദ്ധരാത്രിയിലാണ് ഇന്ത്യ സ്വതന്ത്രമായത്. ഒരു രാജ്യം സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തിലേക്ക് കടക്കാനായി അര്‍ദ്ധരാത്രി തന്നെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തതിനു പിന്നിലെ അപൂര്‍വ്വതയും കാരണങ്ങളും പലപ്പോഴും ചര്‍ച്ചക്കും ഇടയാക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.
‘ ലോകം ഉറങ്ങുമ്പോള്‍ ഇന്ത്യ ജീവിതത്തിലേക്കും സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തിലേക്കും ഉണര്‍ന്നിരിക്കുന്നു‘; എന്നാണ് അര്‍ദ്ധരാത്രിയില്‍ ലഭിച്ച സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തെപ്പറ്റി ജവഹര്‍ലാല്‍ നെഹ്‌റു അഭിപ്രായപ്പെട്ടത്. നിരവധി മഹാരഥന്മാരുടെ ചോരയും നീരും കൊണ്ടാണ് സ്വതന്ത്ര ഇന്ത്യയെന്ന കാവ്യം രചിക്കപ്പെട്ടത്.
ഏഴു പതിറ്റാണ്ടുകള്‍ക്കിപ്പുറം ചൊവ്വ പര്യവേക്ഷണം, ചാന്ദ്രയാന്‍ ദൗത്യം, ഉപഗ്രഹ വിക്ഷേപണം, അത്യന്താധുനിക മിസൈലുകള്‍, ആണവോര്‍ജം തുടങ്ങി ശാസ്‌ത്രസാങ്കേതികരംഗത്ത്‌ വന്‍ കുതിച്ചുചാട്ടം നടത്താന്‍ രാജ്യത്തിനു സാധിച്ചു. അതോടൊപ്പം, ഇന്ത്യന്‍ ജനാധിപത്യം ലോകത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും വലുതും കരുത്തുമുള്ള ജനാധിപത്യമായി മാറി. ഇന്ത്യയോടൊപ്പം സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യം പ്രാപിച്ച പല രാജ്യങ്ങളും പട്ടാളഭരണത്തിലേക്കും ഏകാധിപത്യത്തിലേക്കും കാലിടറി വീണപ്പോള്‍, മൂവര്‍ണക്കൊടി പാറിനിന്നു. കാരണം, ഗാന്ധിജി പകര്‍ന്നു തന്ന കാഴ്‌ചപ്പാടുകളും മൂല്യങ്ങളുമാണ്‌ നമ്മുടെ അടിത്തറ. സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യദിനാഘോഷത്തിനായി സുഹൃത്തുക്കള്‍ക്കും ബന്ധുക്കള്‍ക്കും പ്രിയ്യപ്പെട്ടവര്‍ക്കുമൊക്കെ അയയ്ക്കാന്‍ കഴിയുന്ന ആശംസ സന്ദേശങ്ങള്‍ പങ്കുവയ്ക്കുന്നു.
