The National day of UAE stands for the nationalisation from the British Protectorate Treaties which were declared in 1968 and also falls on the anniversary of the federal unification of the seven emirates in 1971 which combined to form the modern-day country, headed by Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the federation's first president. Grand celebrations are held across the country to mark the event.

Fireworks, car rallies and dance shows are the most common activities. Over 57% of UAE residents anticipate to see famous UAE fireworks during the last UAE National day weekend. How UAE Independence Day is celebrated?

Families give their full participation to enjoy this day with enjoyment. Many plan a picnic, various opt to watch fireworks or go to parks and renowned landmarks. The fun of celebrating national days does not stops. There are many events organized in the entire UAE where competitions are taken place. It has international boat racing, classic car competition, dhow boat racing, and the best-decorated car in flag color. These excite the national celebration between the residents. Seeds of Union

‘Seeds of the Union’, a dramatic live production to celebrate the UAE’s 49th National Day, is airing on Wednesday December 2. The stunning show, which is staged in Abu Dhabi, will take the form of a moving sculpture surrounded by sea and illuminated by digital visuals portraying themes inspired by the UAE’s rich history and strong values. The must-see show will be broadcasted live to an audience of millions in the UAE and beyond.

Hotels and other public sites are decorated with the flags and lights. Downtown Dubai will be lightened with fireworks and the Burj Khalifa displays the UAE flag. It will be crowded with people willing to see the massive national day fireworks and celebration. Shopping centres, malls, and institutions will be decorated with the flag. Heritage Villages are set all over the emirates in order to celebrate this event traditionally. Holidays are given from the National Day until two days later. Air shows are conducted while military processions are held at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre for the rulers of the Emirates, members of the Federal National Council, and Emirati citizens.

The most amazing is the sword dances like Ayyalah, Harbiya, and Liwa that takes place in the mall or heritage village. Also, camel sticks are used sometimes to replace the swords. They really dance with perfect precision while throwing the swords on the air and catching it back with an amazing style.

According to the circular issued by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, public holidays for Commemoration Day and UAE National Day for federal government employees will be from Tuesday, December 1 until Thursday, December 3. Work will resume on Sunday, December 6, 2020.
