KCET 2020 Exam Date Latest News : KEA identifies 75 new exam centres for KCET 2020; candidates can edit online application here kea.kar.nic.in till 22 May. Candidates appearing for the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) 2020 will be able to edit their online application as well as change the examination centre from 20 to 22 May. The provision to make changes in the Karnataka CET 2020 online application form will open from 6 pm on 20 May.

Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) has identified 75 new examination centres to conduct CET and the list has been shared on the website. KEA has asked the students to verify the newly identified examination centres list and change their earlier place of CET 2020 "if they are interested."




 

Candidates can change or modify the information furnished in the CET 2020 online application as per their eligibility, KEA added. To edit the online application form, candidates will have to log in to the official website of KCET and enter their user ID and password.

Karnataka (CET) 2020 will be held on 30 and 31 July.

Karnataka CET is held for determining the merit for admission to the first year of full-time courses for government share of seats in engineering, technology, B Pharma, 2nd year B Pharma, Pharma-D courses and farm science courses.

According to a report by The New Indian Express, Deputy Chief Minister and Higher Education Minister CN Ashwath Narayan said that KCET 2020 will help students planning for admission into engineering colleges across the state.

There are more than 200 colleges accepting KCET scores. Based on the marks secured candidates will be allotted seats into the institutes. Aspirants seeking admission in architecture courses must qualify JEE Main (Paper 2) or NATA and then they can participate in KCET 2020 Counselling. KEA will conduct KCET Agriculture Practical Test for those candidates who are seeking admission under Agriculturist Quota in Farm Universities. The test on “Identification of Agriculture Related Specimens” is held to claim seat under the quota.

In order to avoid spreading of Novel Corona COVID-19 in the state, CET-2020 examination was postponed. Now on the directions of the Government of Karnataka, Karnataka Examination Authority will be conducting CET-2020 on 30-07-2020 & 31-07-2020 for admission to First year or First semester Engineering, Technology, Yoga & Naturopathy, Farm Science courses and B.Pharm & Pharm-D courses as per the following revised schedule.

Karnataka CET 2020 Cut off Marks

• KCET cut off will be available in the form of Closing Ranks.

• It is the minimum qualifying rank required by the candidate to be eligible for counselling process.

• The cut off depends on varied factors such as total seats available, number of candidates appeared, level of difficulty of exam.

• KCET Cut off is released by exam conducting authority for different institutes and branches of engineering.

• KCET Counselling and Seat Allotment for all the qualified candidates is conducted in multiple rounds as per the merit list and the no. of seats available in institutes.

Eligibility for CET Exam Karnataka

The candidate should have studied and passed in one or more Government or Government recognised educational institutions located in the State of Karnataka for a minimum period of SEVEN academic years commencing from 1st standard to 2nd PUC / 12th standard as on 1st July of the year in which the Entrance Test is held and must have appeared and passed either SSLC / 10th standard or 2nd PUC / 12th standard examination from Karnataka State. In case of the candidate who had taken more than one year to pass a class or standard, the years of academic study is counted as one year only

For Engineering Courses:

• Qualifying Exam: Candidates have to qualify the 2nd PUC/10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognized board.

• Subject: Candidates must pass their examination with Mathematics & Physics as a main subject & English as a language subject.

• Minimum Marks: It is compulsory to score at least 45% marks (40% marks in SC/ST category) in physics and mathematics along with one of the subjects, i.e. Biotechnology/Biology/Electronics/Chemistry/Computer science.

Documents to be produced:

1) SSLC / 10th standard Marks Card,

2) 2nd PUC / 12th standard Marks Card of the candidate,

3) Candidate’s Study Certificate;

4) If claiming Rural quota: - Rural Study Certificate from 1st to 10th std for Ten Complete Years.

5) If claiming Kannada Medium quota: Kannada Medium Study Certificate from 1st to 10th std for Ten Complete Years;.

6) If claiming reservation benefits: Caste / Caste Income Certificate issued by Concerned Tahsildar- For SC / ST in Form-D, Category-I in form E and 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B in Form F.
