How Can I Check My Gas Subsidy Status : Live Updates

OPTIONS TO RECEIVE LPG SUBSIDY

Under the modified PAHAL scheme, LPG consumers can now receive subsidy in their bank account via two methods. Customers will be referred to as CTC or Cash Transfer Compliant once they join the scheme and are ready to receive subsidy into their bank accounts. The two options are:

  • OPTION I (PRIMARY):

Wherever Aadhaar number is available, it will remain the medium of cash transfer. Thus, an LPG consumer has to link his Aadhaar Number to his bank account and LPG consumer number.
  • OPTION II (SECONDARY):

If LPG consumer does not have an Aadhaar number, then he can directly receive subsidy in his bank account without an Aadhaar number. This option, introduced in the modified scheme ensures that LPG subsidy is not denied to any LPG consumer given the lack of Aadhaar registration. In this option, either the consumer presents his bank account information (bank account holder name /account number /IFSC code) to the LPG distributor or present LPG consumer information (17 digit LPG consumer ID) to his bank).

Keep your Aadhaar card handy before you begin the process.

1)   Submit application to the Distributor:

  • Download the subsidy application form from your respective LPG gas company’s website
  • Print out the form and fill in the required details
  • Submit the form to a distributor’s office

2)   Call centre:

  • Call on 18000-2333-555
  • The operator will guide you through the rest of the steps

3)   Through Interactive Voice Response system (IVRS):

  • Every LPG service provider has developed an IVRS to help users link their Aadhaar Card
  • Each district has a different IVRS code and you will be able to find it on the gas company’s company website.
  • a)   For Indane Gas consumers:
If you are Indane Gas consumer, you can find the IVRS number of your district at this link: http://indane.co.in/sms_ivrs.php

www.hindustanpetroleum.com/hpanytime and find the appropriate IVRS number and follow instructions.

4)   Through Post:

5)   Through SMS:

If your mobile number is registered with your gas company, all you need to do is visit the company’s website, find the relevant SMS number, and send an SMS requesting that your Aadhaar be linked in the prescribed format.

7. In case of Inter-Company transfer, as the equipment is not compatible across companies, consumer will need to visit the existing distributor and surrender cylinder and pressure regulator, collect refund/ transfer documents and then approach the Chosen distributor for reconnection by paying the same deposit as earlier.

8. No transfer fee or additional security deposit will be charged for transfer of connection under portability scheme.

9. Proactive electronic tracking of the portability request with escalation matrix and its closure is in place to ensure that a consumer does not have any difficulty in moving to the distributor of his choice.

ADVANTAGES

 1. Due to lack of competition attributed to the policy on exclusive area of operation and ceiling on maximum number of refills, currently there is no specific motivation for distributors in their monopoly market to expand and woo the customers. In other words, with most of the distributors customers being captive, they are not allowed to choose any other distributor. This would undergo a drastic change when portability is introduced.

2. Customers can switch from one distributor to another within the same cluster when portability is implemented. Link will be provided in the portal displaying the service levels of the distributors making it easier for the customer to choose his distributor.

3. Customer will be allowed to get transferred and get reconnection within the cluster of distributors, identified with common Area of Operation, intra and intercompany (across IOC-HPC-BPC).

4. Portability will bring in competition in the markets and thereby it will improve customer service.

5. The existing distributors not providing good customer service, for their survival will also gear up to offer the services for customer satisfaction and delight.

6. The overall efficiency in the LPG cylinder distribution and logistics will improve.

7. From mere distribution as a commodity, LPG cylinders would migrate to a competitive marketing environment.
