If you’re a verified student*, you can get 25% off your Essential monthly subscription. With Paramount+, you’ll get more than 30,000 episodes and movies on demand, exclusive originals, live sports like the NFL on CBS and UEFA Champions League, breaking news from the CBS News Streaming Network (formerly CBSN).

Please note the discount is only available to college or university students who are currently enrolled at an accredited, Title IV higher education institution. High school students are not eligible.

How do I get the student discount? 

Just visit paramountplus.com/account/edu/. During the signup process, your student information will be verified by SheerID* to confirm your current enrollment status. Please note that we cannot apply the student discount to existing Paramount+ subscriptions, so if you already have a subscription, you’ll need to cancel and then resubscribe by visiting paramountplus.com/account/edu/.

How does Paramount+ determine if I’m a “verified” student?

We’ve partnered with SheerID*, an independent verification service, to verify your student status.

Here’s how it works:

• During the signup process, you’ll be required to enter student information (your name, college/university, and date of birth).
• SheerID will attempt to immediately validate your student status by matching this data within their education database. Note: It’s important you enter your student contact information exactly the way it appears on your official school documents.
• If there’s a database match, verification is automatic and you’ll simply be prompted to the “Payment” page to enter billing information to start your subscription. (If more information is needed, you’ll be prompted to “upload student documents” that can be used to assist in verifying your student status.

Is the student discount available with the low-cost Essential plan?

If you’re a new subscriber, you’ll still get the 25% discount, which is available on the Essential monthly plan only.

I’m a current student subscriber with the Limited Commercials plan. Can I keep my student discount and my plan?

You can keep the same plan AND your student discount, HOWEVER, if you decide to switch to the Essential plan, you’ll need to cancel your Limited Commercials subscription and resubscribe. PLEASE NOTE that the Limited Commercials plan has been discontinued, and if you switch to the Essential plan, you will NO LONGER HAVE ACCESS TO YOUR LOCAL LIVE CBS STATION.

Why did you deny my student discount? My school documents confirm I’m enrolled to start school next semester.

We’re sorry, but the student discount offer is valid for college/university students who can provide proof of current enrollment through SheerID, our independent verification service.

How long can I keep my student discount for Paramount+?

Once you’ve been verified, your student discount is valid for 4 years, even if you graduate before the 4-year period. When you’ve exceeded the 4-year limit, payments will proceed at the standard rate for a Essential monthly subscription.

Can I sign up for the student offer on my device?

You can only sign up for the student discount on your computer or mobile web here, but you can stream Paramount+ from any supported device.

Why couldn’t you verify my student status? I’m attending a college/university.

If SheerID was unable to automatically confirm your student status, it means more information is needed to assist with validation. When prompted during the signup process, you’ll have a chance to upload additional school documents using the guidelines below:

Upload one of these documents

• Current school ID card with expiration date
• School transcript
• Other school-issued document that displays your first and last name, school name, and the current date of enrollment

Document must display all information shown below

• Your full name
• School
• Enrollment date (date must be current for verification)

Don’t worry, you won’t be charged until your student status is verified and you have completed your free trial.

Note: Current “print” or “view” dates cannot be used to validate current enrollment. For example, your transcript may have been printed yesterday, but if it shows your most recent enrollment in classes was from a previous term, you would not be verified for the student discount. Proof of enrollment in classes for upcoming school terms are also not accepted, therefore, acceptance letters would not confirm current enrollment.
