How to watch the 2019 Cricket World Cup from outside your country

You don't have to miss a single minute of Cricket World Cup - even if you're abroad and discover that your home broadcaster's online coverage is geo-blocked (we hate it when that happens).

If that happens to you and you're desperate to watch that domestic coverage, there's still a way to get it that doesn't involve putting your security at risk with some dodgy, illegal stream from Reddit. You can simply use a VPN to login back to your country that is broadcasting the actions, and it's really easy to do:

We've tested all of the major VPN services and we rate ExpressVPN as the absolute best, thanks to it's killer combination of security, speed and simplicity to use. It's also compatible with loads of streaming devices such as Amazon Fire TV Stick, Apple TV, Xbox and PlayStation, as well as Android and Apple mobiles. So to get that home broadcast and stay safer online, ExpressVPN is your best option (or one of the other best VPN services out there as listed below).

1. Express VPN (comes with a 30 day money back guarantee)

This is the #1 rated best VPN in the world right now, with those previously mentioned levels of security, speed and compatibility putting it to the top of the list. You can try it out for a month for free or sign up for an annual plan and get 3 months absolutely FREE. Check out Express VPN

2. NordVPN:

SmartPlay tech makes NordVPN a great choice for streaming. It's really affordable, too

3. IPVanish:

IPVanishsupports up to 10 devices, so great on the go

Once installed, you simply open the VPN app, hit 'choose location' and select the appropriate location - it's super easy to do. Choose any country showing the Cricket World Cup and watch as if you were in that country.

SL Team News

Sri Lanka made as many as three changes to their side in the last match against the West Indies - they dropped Jeevan Mendis, Thisara Perera and Suranga Lakmal for Lahiru Thirimanne, Jeffrey Vandersay and Kasun Rajitha. Thirimanne seems to have earned his place in the playing eleven after his unbeaten 45 but the same cannot be said for Vandersay and Rajitha who both returned expensive figures. It remains to be seen whether the Lankans go unchanged or bring back one of Mendis or Lakmal or both.

SL Key Players

Avishka Fernando: He has been a revelation for Sri Lanka in this World Cup. The top-order batsman has made the most of his three opportunities so far, scoring 183 runs at an average of 61. Avishka scored 49 in his debut World Cup game against England and cracked a century last time against the West Indies.

Kusal Perera: With 255 runs in six matches and three fifties under his belt, Kusal Perera has been Sri Lanka's best batsman in the tournament. The opener has scored 94 runs in his last two innings which includes the 51-ball 64 in the last game against the Windies.

Lasith Malinga: He has been the most successful bowler for Sri Lanka in this World Cup having picked up 12 wickets in 6 matches at an economy of 5.63 and the onus will be on him to take early wickets against India. The pacer notched a four-fer against England last month and is coming off 3-55 against the Windies.

SL Recent Form

Sri Lanka are currently sixth on the CWC 2019 points table with three wins, three losses and a couple of washouts from eight matches. They have eight points in the bag and even a big win against India won't be enough to take them through to the semis. They have been very inconsistent and underwhelming with the bat throughout the tournament. After stunning England at this very ground, Sri Lanka suffered a heavy loss at the hands of South Africa before beating the West Indies in their last match.

IND Team News

India replaced Kuldeep Yadav and Kedar Jadhav by Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Dinesh Karthik respectively in their last match against Bangladesh. Having already qualified for the semi-finals, there might be a temptation to give Ravindra Jadeja a go, and if they do, it will be interesting to see who they leave out. We don't expect India to tweak their line-up too much as they would want to take the winning momentum into the knockout round.

IND Key Players

Rohit Sharma: The opening batsman is in imperious form at the moment and is leading the tournament's run-charts with 544 runs at a remarkable average of 90.66. He now has back-to-back hundreds - 102 versus England followed by 104 versus Bangladesh - and it could be three in a row for him when he faces Sri Lanka on Saturday.

Virat Kohli: The skipper is a vital cog in the Indian batting line-up. He smacked five consecutive fifties in the tournament prior to the last game against Bangladesh in which he scored 26. With another half-century, Kohli will look to overhaul England's Jonny Bairstow who is ahead of him on the run-charts by 54 runs.

Jasprit Bumrah: The paceman has shown on numerous occasions in this tournament why he is the World's best ODI bowler. He has taken 14 wickets in 7 matches at an incredible economy of 4.60 and has been very accurate with his yorkers at the death. Bumrah took a four-fer last time and one can expect another strong showing from him.

IND Recent Form

India have been one of the most consistent sides in this Cricket World Cup and have faced defeat only once so far in their campaign - just recently against England at Birmingham. They are second in the standings with six wins from eight matches and have sealed their qualification in the semi-finals with a convincing 28-run win in their last game against Bangladesh. India's batting in the tournament has been impressive having breached the 300-mark on four occasions.

SL Bet365 Odds

• SL to Win the Match: Sri Lanka are distant outsiders with Bet365 at 5.50 to beat India.

• SL batsman to score a fifty: Skipper Dimuth Karunaratne is 3.50 with Bet365 to hit a half-century in this match and his opening partner Kusal Perera is also being offered at the same price.

IND Bet365 Odds

• IND to Win the Match: Bet365 is offering odds of 1.14 on India to win this game.

• IND batsman to score a fifty: Virat Kohli, who has five fifties in the tournament, seems worth backing at 1.66 with Bet365 for his sixth fifty while Rohit Sharma has been priced at 1.72.

SL Betway Odds

• SL to Win the Match: Sri Lanka are 5.50 underdogs with Betway to win this match.

• SL Top Batsman: Avishka Fernando top-scored for Sri Lanka last time and he is 4.50 with Betway to be the team's top batsman against India. Dimuth Karunaratne is 3.60 while Kusal Perera is 4.

• SL Top Bowler: Lasith Malinga, Sri Lanka's most impressive bowler in this World Cup, stands at 2.80 with Betway to be the top bowler for his side. Isuru Udana is 3.75 and off-spinner Dhananjaya de Silva is 4.33.

IND Betway Odds

• IND to Win the Match: India are 1.12 favorites with Betway to beat Sri Lanka.

• IND Top Batsman: Rohit Sharma can be backed to score the most runs for India in this match at 3 with Betway. Virat Kohli has been priced at 2.87 while KL Rahul and MS Dhoni are 4 and 9 respectively.

• IND Top Bowler: Betway is offering 3.25 on Jasprit Bumrah to finish as India's best bowler against Sri Lanka. Mohammed Shami can also be backed at the same price while Yuzvendra Chahal is 3.75.

Predicted Winner

Though it is an inconsequential game in the context of the tournament, both the teams will have a lot to play for. While Sri Lanka will be playing for pride and will look to bow out on a high, a win for India will keep their hopes alive for finishing at the top of the table. India's excellent recent record against Sri Lanka in ODIs will certainly give them the edge but they also know that they cannot afford to be complacent against them who can spring in a surprise just like they did against tournament favorites England. Although Sri Lanka do have a few quality players on their roster, India clearly are a far superior side in all departments of the game and we expect them to prevail in their final league match.
