The Common Admission Test Admit Card will be made available by Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) on October 27, 2021. The official website www.iimcat.ac.in will activate the IIM CAT 2021 Admit Card link at 5 p.m. today. Candidates must enter their application ID and date of birth in the Common Admission Test 2021 admit card login window to download their admit card.

The Indian Institutes of Management will conduct a computer-based Common Admission Test 2021 (CAT 2021) on Sunday, November 28, 2021 in three sessions. CAT 2021 will be conducted by IIMs as a prerequisite for admission to various management programmes of IIMs.

CAT Admit card – How to Download?

CAT admit cards can be downloaded tentatively from the last week of October 2021. Steps to download the CAT 2021 Admit Card are given below:

1. Visit the official CAT website iimcat.ac.in.
2. Click on ‘download CAT admit card’
3. The login window will open a new page
4. Enter CAT registration/login ID and password
5. The admit card window will open
6. Click on ‘download’ tab and save on desktop
7. Check all the details and take a print out your CAT 2021 Admit Card

CAT Admit Card – What to Carry on the Exam Day?

Candidates must carry only the following things on the day of the exam:

1. Admit card (at least two copies)

2. Recent passport size photograph

What is Exam Pattern for CAT 2021?

Candidates appearing for CAT 2021 are required to take an undertaking with regard to the COVID 19 wherein they are required to provide certain information about health and other issues. The undertaking has to be carried with the CAT admit card.

CAT 2021 admit card will include COVID 19 advisory and the ‘no-touch policy’ to be followed at the test centre. CAT will be conducted in three slots on 28th November 2021 across 156 CAT test centres in the online, centre-based mode. Candidates are required to abide by all the exam day guidelines specified by the conducting body in light of the COVID-19 situation.

Although some major changes were introduced in 2020 and are going to continue this year, the only change in the pattern for the 2021 exam is that less questions will be asked. CAT 2021 Exam Pattern was revised for the purposes of assisting candidates. With fewer questions across sections, the applicants will now have sufficient time to complete the examination. MP Ram Mohan, CAT 2021 Convenor, has reporters told that the pattern of CAT examinations has changed in 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. As the problem continues, the paper pattern will be largely similar even this year.

The Convenor even told reporters that during the CAT 2020 examination no complaints were received from candidates and that everyone was satisfied with the latest examination pattern. However, as a result of the changes, students are likely to have faced the problem of time pressure to complete the exam. In order to ease this, all three sections of reading understanding, verbal ability, quantitative ability and data interpretation and logical reasoning have been reduced in the number of questions this year.

This one change will only be included in the CAT 2021 Exam Pattern. Rest all will stay the same. The exam will still last two hours and will take place on the same day in three sessions. Eligibility

The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in  the case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PwD) categories], awarded by any University or educational institution as incorporated by an Act of Parliament or State legislature in India or declared to be deemed as an University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognised by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

● Candidates appearing for the final year of Bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and
those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. However, it may be noted that such candidates, if selected, will be allowed to join the programme provisionally, only if they submit a certificate from the Principal/Registrar of their University/Institution (issued on or before the date as stipulated by the respective IIM) stating that they have completed all the requirements for obtaining the Bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification on the date of issue of the certificate.

● Candidates applying for CAT 2021 should fulfill any one of the following conditions:

● Completed Bachelor’s degree with the required percentage of marks*.

● Completed professional degree (CA/CS/ICWA/Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of India (FIAI)) with required percentage*.

● Should be in the final year of Bachelor’s degree with required percentage*. *SC/ST/PwD candidates should have a minimum 45%. For General, EWS and NC-OBC candidates, the minimum is 50%.

● The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate would be calculated based on the practice as followed by the respective University/Institution. In case of grades/CGPA, the conversion to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure as certified by the respective University/Institution. If any University/Institution confirms that there is no scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA, and multiplying the result with 100.

ADMISSION PROCESS

Please note that IIMs shortlist candidates for the interview stage based on their own criteria, which may be independent of each other. The process may include Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interviews (PI). Performance in the CAT 2021 examination is an important component in the admission process. IIMs may additionally use other factors such as the previous academic performance of the candidates, relevant work experience, gender and academic diversity and other similar inputs in shortlisting and ranking of candidates at various stages of the admission process. The processes, academic cut-offs and the weights allocated to the evaluation parameters may vary across IIMs. For more information, refer to the admissions policies of individual IIMs on their respective websites.

REGISTRATION FEES

₹1100 for SC, ST and PwD category candidates.

₹2200 for all other categories of candidates.

Please note that a candidate needs to pay the registration fees only once, irrespective of the number of institutes
he/she is applying for. Fees once paid cannot be refunded under any circumstances.

TEST CENTRES

CAT will be conducted in test centres spread across around 158 test cities. Candidates will be given the option to
selectany six test cities in order of their preference.

How to apply 

1. Candidates have to go to the official website – iimcat.ac.in.
2. On the Homepage, there will be a link that will read, ‘New Registration’.
3. Click on it and enter your email id, phone number, and date of birth.
4. This will then activate your new CAT Id.
5. Alternatively, candidates can even click on the direct link given here to register for CAT 2021.
6. Login using your Id and Password and start filling the CAT 2021 form.
7. Upload the documents as asked and pay the application fee.
8. Your CAT Registration 2021 is now completed.
9. Download and print a copy of the form for future references.
