Not Implemented Error in Outlook 2013 | How to Fix

The “Not Implemented” error in Outlook 2013 is a common and often frustrating issue that can prevent you from performing basic tasks like sending or receiving emails.

It can be caused by a variety of factors, and there’s no single solution that works for everyone. However, there are several troubleshooting steps you can take to resolve the problem.

Here are the most common causes and fixes:

1️⃣ Outlook Add-ins Causing Issues

Add-ins can interfere with sending or receiving emails.

Fix: Start Outlook in Safe Mode

outlook.exe /safe
  • If the error doesn’t appear in Safe Mode, disable unnecessary add-ins:

    • File → Options → Add-ins → Manage → COM Add-ins → Uncheck all → Restart Outlook.

2️⃣ Corrupted Outlook Profile

A damaged mail profile can trigger this error.

Fix: Create a New Profile

  1. Close Outlook.

  2. Open Control Panel → Mail (32-bit).

  3. Click Show Profiles → Add.

  4. Create a new profile and set it as Default.

  1. Locate SCANPST.EXE (Inbox Repair Tool) in your Office installation folder.

  2. Run it and browse to your PST/OST file.

  3. Click Start to repair.

5️⃣ Wrong Send/Receive Settings

If your Send/Receive groups are corrupted, Outlook may fail.

💡 Tip: Always back up your PST/OST files before repairing or creating new profiles.

If these manual methods fail to resolve the issue, it may indicate a more severe problem with your Office installation or system files. At that point, a complete uninstall and reinstall of Microsoft Office might be necessary.
