To address the complaints of genuine members/depositors of Sahara Group of Cooperative Societies for payment of their legitimate deposits, the Ministry of Cooperation had filed an application with the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.

Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah will launch ‘CRCS-Sahara Refund Portal’ in New Delhi on Tuesday. Rs. 5000 Crores be transferred out of the “Sahara-SEBI Refund Account” to CRCS for disbursement.

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and guidance of Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, since its formation, the Ministry of Cooperation has taken number of initiatives to strengthen the cooperative movement in the country and to protect the interests of the members of the cooperatives.

It is pertinent to mention that to address the grievances of genuine members/depositors of Sahara Group of Cooperative Societies for payment of their legitimate deposits, the Ministry of Cooperation had filed an application in the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India. The Hon’ble Supreme Court vide its order dated 29th March, 2023 had directed that Rs. 5000 Crores be transferred out of the “Sahara-SEBI Refund Account”, to the Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS) for disbursement against the legitimate dues of the genuine depositors of the Sahara Group of Cooperative Societies.

Kendriya Panjiyak Sahara Refund Portal Hindi

A Portal has been developed for submission of legitimate claims by the genuine depositors of the Sahara Group of Cooperative Societies namely- Sahara Credit Cooperative Society Ltd., Saharayan Universal Multipurpose Society Ltd., Humara India Credit Cooperative Society Ltd. and Stars Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd.

In a statement from July 17, the Ministry of Cooperation said, “To address the complaints of genuine members/depositors of Sahara Group of Cooperative Societies for payment of their legitimate deposits, the Ministry of Cooperation had filed an application with the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.

The Supreme Court’s order from March 29, 2023, said that Rs. 5,000 crores should be moved from the “Sahara-SEBI Refund Account” to the “Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS) for payment to the genuine depositors of the Sahara Group of Cooperative Societies.

Even though the Sahara Refund Portal has been opened, as of 2:19 p.m. on July 18, the online link to the portal was not working. On the website of the Ministry of Cooperation (https://cooperation.gov.in/), you can find a link to the CRCS-Sahara Refund Portal.

How to claim refund

The depositors’ Aadhaar cards should be tied to their mobile phone numbers and bank accounts so that they can get their money back. They will also have to give information about the ticket. Shah also said that people who made deposits will have to download a form, fill it out, and then re-upload it on the site for the refund to be processed.

Shah promised that the money would be sent to the claims’ bank accounts in 45 days.

Depositors are requested to submit all the claims relating to all the four societies in a single claim application form. Only claims lodged online through the portal will be entertained. There is no fee for submitting a claim. For any technical problem, you may contact the given toll free numbers of the committee ( 1800 103 6891 / 1800 103 6893 ) .
