How Many People Can Watch Discovery Plus at Once
With a discovery+ subscription, you can stream content on up to 4 devices simultaneously, regardless of whether you have the ad-supported or ad-free plan.
This means you can have four different devices—such as a smartphone, tablet, laptop, and smart TV—streaming at the same time. If you attempt to stream on a fifth device, you’ll encounter a “Too many streams” error .
📺 Managing Device Streams
To manage your active streams:
-
Open the discovery+ app or website and go to your Account settings.
-
Navigate to Manage Devices.
-
Here, you can see which devices are currently streaming.
-
If needed, you can remove a device to free up a slot for another stream.
👥 User Profiles
Your discovery+ account allows you to create up to 5 user profiles. Each profile can have its own personalized recommendations and watchlist. However, the 4 simultaneous stream limit applies across all profiles combined.

📥 Offline Viewing
If you’re concerned about streaming limits, consider downloading content for offline viewing. With the ad-free plan, you can download shows and movies to watch later without affecting your streaming count. Downloaded content is available for 30 days or 48 hours after you start watching, whichever comes first.
In summary, while you can have multiple devices associated with your discovery+ account, only 4 can stream simultaneously. To watch on more devices at once, you’ll need to stop streaming on one of the active devices.
