yts.mx Not Working | Is it actually down?

YTS.mx is likely active, but if it is not loading for you, it is almost certainly being blocked by your Internet Service Provider (ISP).

As of late 2025, YTS (and similar torrent sites) are not “down” globally, but they are subject to heavy DNS blocking in the UK, Australia, parts of Europe, and increasingly in the US and India.

Here is how to determine the cause and how users typically resolve it.

1. Is it actually down?

First, check if the site is down for everyone or just you.

  • Check Status: Visit a site like DownDetector or IsItDownRightNow. If they say “Up,” the problem is your connection.

  • The “Error” Message:

    • “Connection Timed Out” / “This site can’t be reached”: Usually indicates an ISP block.

    • “522 Connection Timed Out”: This is a server-side error (Cloudflare) on YTS’s end. If you see this, the site is temporarily broken for everyone, and you just have to wait.

2. How to Bypass the ISP Block

If the site is up but won’t load for you, your ISP is likely preventing your computer from finding the specific IP address for yts.mx.

A. Change your DNS (The Free Fix)

ISPs usually block sites by removing them from their default DNS directories. Using a public, neutral DNS often fixes this instantly.

  • On Android: Settings > Network & Internet > Private DNS > Hostname > enter dns.google or 1dot1dot1dot1.cloudflare-dns.com

  • On iPhone: Settings > Wi-Fi > (i) Icon > Configure DNS > Manual > Add Server > 8.8.8.8 (Google) or 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare)

  • On PC/Mac: Change your network adapter settings to use the DNS addresses 8.8.8.8 (Primary) and 8.8.4.4 (Secondary)

B. Use a VPN (The Secure Fix)

If changing the DNS doesn’t work, your ISP is using “Deep Packet Inspection” to block the connection.

  • A VPN encrypts your traffic so your ISP cannot see what site you are visiting, allowing you to bypass the block.

  • Note: Free VPNs are often too slow for this; paid services are generally required for reliable access.

3. Safety Warning: Beware of “Clone” Sites

Since the official YTS domains are often blocked, hundreds of fake “mirror” sites appear in Google results.

  • The Risk: Many of these clones look identical to YTS but contain malware or require you to download a “special player” (which is actually a virus) to watch movies.

  • Official Mirrors: If you must use a mirror, ensure it is one of the verified proxies (often listed on community forums like Reddit) rather than a random Google result. Common legitimate extensions often include .mx, .lt, or .ag.

4. Summary

If yts.mx is spinning forever or giving a connection error, your internet provider has blocked it.

  • Step 1: Change your DNS to Google (8.8.8.8).

  • Step 2: If that fails, you need a VPN to access it.
