To activate your card, you must verify your identity as a new owner of a NetSpend SkylightPaycard. As soon as you receive your card in the mail, you will receive instructions for activating the card and verifying your identity.

SkylightPaycard is a prepaid card provided by Netspend. It is also important to note that this is not a credit card. Unlike a credit card, this will not affect or improve your credit score. In addition to receiving cashback rewards, you’ll also receive personalized offers for qualifying purchases

Activate Your SkylightPaycard Card

  • Get the card & its activation instructions

    • When your Skylight PayCard arrives by mail, there should be a packet with instructions. These usually include how to verify your identity, a phone number for support, the card number, etc.

  • Go to the official website

    • Open a browser and go to skylightpaycard.com.

  • Click “Activate / Register” or “Activate Card”

    • On the homepage, there is usually a blue button or link labelled “Activate / Register”, or something similar.

  • Enter your card details

    • You will be asked to enter:

      • The 16‑digit card number from the front of the card.

      • The security code (CVV or CV2) from the back of the card.

  • Verify identity

    • Sometimes, Skylight requires additional personal information to confirm your identity. That might include your date of birth, Social Security Number (last 4 digits), etc.

  • Follow on-screen instructions

    • After entering the required information, follow any prompts (agreeing to terms, setting up login credentials for online access, etc.).

  • Set up online account access

    • Once the card is activated, you’ll likely create a username/password for the online portal so you can log in, check balance, transaction history, etc.

  • Customer service / phone activation (if needed)

How can I find out how much money I have in my account?

You can see your balance, your deposits, and your transaction history by signing into your Online Account Center for free. You may also enroll in Anytime Alerts to receive a text message every time you make a purchase with your card account balance. If you’ve opted into Anytime Alerts, you can text the letters BAL to 22622 at any time to receive your account balance.
