Set up two-factor authentication to enhance your account’s security. With two-factor authentication enabled in Mailchimp, you need your login credentials and a one-time passcode to log in to your account. This passcode is sent via SMS or generated by an authenticator app.

In this article, you’ll learn how to use two-factor authentication with an authenticator app.
Before you start

Before you start

Here are some things to know before you begin this process.

1. We offer a 10% security discount toward your monthly marketing plan for 1 month when the account Owner and all account Admins set up two-factor authentication. Restrictions apply.

2. If you prefer to receive a passcode via text, check out Set Up Two-Factor Authentication with SMS.

3. You’ll need to download a two-factor authenticator app to your mobile device. (Examples: Authy, Google Authenticator, Authenticator Plus, and others).

4. This authentication process requires a mobile device. The passcode can’t be generated on a computer.

5. Check out our troubleshooting guide if you’re having trouble logging in using an authenticator app.

Log in with an authenticator app

1. To use a connected two-factor authentication app to log in to your account, follow these steps.

2. Enter your Mailchimp username and password on the Mailchimp login screen, and click Log In.

3. Launch your two-factor authenticator app on your connected mobile device to generate your random, temporary passcode.

4. Type the six-digit passcode into the Verification code field in Mailchimp. Click Log In.

Remove two-factor authentication

We strongly recommend that you use two-factor authentication to protect your account data. But if you no longer want to use it, you can turn it off on the Security page in your account. You can reconnect two-factor authentication any time.

To remove two-factor authentication, follow these steps.

Click your profile icon and choose Account.
Click the Settings drop-down menu and choose Security.

Uncheck any boxes in the Enable two factor authentication for these accounts and Make two factor authentication required for the following user types sections, and click Save.
