What is Lifeline Phone Service?
Lifeline is a government benefit providing free cell phone service* for eligible customers.
You may qualify for FREE phone service if you receive assistance from Medicaid/Medi-Cal, SNAP/CalFresh or other government programs, or if you are considered low income.
Qualifying plans include a FREE 4G/5G LTE smartphone when you enroll with AirTalk Wireless!
How long will it take to ship my phone?
Once your order is complete, you will receive the phone within 3-7 business days. You can also check on the status of your application by visiting Check Status and entering the same email address and zip code you used while initially applying.
What if my phone does not work or damage or was lost or stolen?
If your phone has a manufacturer defect, you can exchange it for a similar model within 15 days from the day you received the phone for FREE.
As the federal government only subsidizes the monthly phone service and our company provided you with a FREE phone at our cost, we can only provide a FREE phone with free shipping and handling when you originally signed up with us or have stayed with us at least 6 months. Otherwise, if you’d like to order a replacement phone, you can do so by paying a $25 fee. This fee mainly covers shipping and handling costs, and this device will come with a 15-day warranty.
Why is the phone I received different from what I selected?
We’re sorry that we weren’t able to send you the same model of your choice. We try our very best but if the model isn’t available, we will send our best option.
Where is my tracking number?
Once your application is approved, you will receive your phone within 7-10 business days. Once it’s been processed, you’ll be sent an email and an SMS with your tracking number. Make sure to check your inbox and spam folder.
Why am I required to upload eligibility proof?
You may qualify for Lifeline if you participate in one of the following government programs:
- Food Stamps / Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
- Medical Assistance (Medicaid)
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
- Veterans Pension or Survivors Pension
