WOW 51900 Error 319 | What to Do

The error code WOW51900319 is a generic disconnection error in World of Warcraft. According to Blizzard Support, this message appears when your game client loses its connection to the game servers.

It’s often referred to by players as a “connection reset by peer” error, meaning something between your computer and the server is interfering with the connection.

The cause can be on Blizzard’s end, your end, or somewhere in between (your Internet Service Provider).


What to Do

1. Check Server Status:

  • The first step is always to check if the servers are down for maintenance or experiencing an unexpected outage.
    • Check the official BlizzardCS Twitter account for real-time announcements.
    • Look at the World of Warcraft Realm Status page to see if your specific server is offline.

2. Troubleshoot Your Network Connection:

If the servers are fine, the problem is likely on your end.

  • Restart everything: Power cycle your PC, your router, and your modem. Unplugging them for about 60 seconds can often fix temporary network glitches.
  • Flush DNS and Renew IP: This can resolve conflicts in your network configuration.
    • Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
    • Type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.
    • Type ipconfig /release and press Enter.
    • Type ipconfig /renew and press Enter.
  • Disable VPNs or Proxies: Using a VPN can sometimes interfere with your connection to the game servers.
  • Check network drivers: Make sure your network drivers are up to date.

3. Troubleshoot the Game Client:

  • Reset the User Interface (UI): Corrupted UI files or outdated addons can cause disconnections.
    1. Exit the game and the Battle.net client.
    2. Go to your World of Warcraft installation folder.
    3. Rename the Cache, Interface, and WTF folders to something else (e.g., CacheOld, InterfaceOld, WTFOld).
    4. Restart the game, which will create new, clean folders.
  • Run a Scan and Repair: Use the Battle.net desktop application’s built-in tool to scan for and repair any corrupted game files. This can be found under the “Options” menu for World of Warcraft.

4. Advanced and Specific Fixes:

  • Stuck Character Service: If the error only happens on one character, it may be a bug where your character is “stuck” in the game world. You can use the Stuck Character Self-Service tool on the Blizzard Support website to move your character to a safe location.
  • Background FPS: Some players have reported success by limiting the Max Background FPS to 30 in the game’s advanced settings. This can prevent the client from overworking your connection when you tab out.

If you have tried all of these steps and the issue persists, the problem may be related to your Internet Service Provider’s (ISP) routing to Blizzard’s servers. At that point, you may want to submit a ticket to Blizzard Support with a WinMTR or PingPlotter trace, as this can help them diagnose the issue.
