Why is Apple Music Replay Not Working

Apple Music Replay 2025 has just officially launched (as of December 2–3). If it is not working for you right now, it is likely due to the massive server traffic from everyone trying to access it at once, or a specific setting on your device.

Here is a checklist to fix the most common issues preventing it from loading:


1. New for 2025: Check the App First

This year, Apple has made Replay available directly inside the Apple Music app (instead of just the website).

  • The Fix: Update your Apple Music app to the latest version via the App Store.

  • Where to find it: Open the app and go to the Home or Listen Now tab. Look for the “Replay: Your Top Music” card.


2. Check the “Use Listening History” Setting

This is the most common reason Replay fails or says “Not Enough Data.” If this setting was off, Apple Music hasn’t been tracking your stats.

  • On iPhone/iPad: Go to Settings > Music. Scroll down and ensure Use Listening History is toggled ON.

  • On Android: In the Apple Music app, tap the three dots > Settings > Use Listening History.

    • Note: If this was off, you cannot recover past data. Replay will only start tracking from now on.

3. Website Glitches (White Screen / Loading Loop)

If you are trying to view it on the website (replay.music.apple.com) and getting a blank screen:

  • Browser Issue: Safari sometimes struggles with the animations. Try opening the link in Chrome or Firefox.

  • Traffic: Since it just launched yesterday/today, the web servers are under heavy load. The in-app version is currently more stable.


4. “Not Enough Music” Error

If you see a message saying you need to listen to more music:

  • There is a minimum threshold of listening time required to generate a Replay. If you primarily listen to your own uploaded library (MP3s) or radio stations, it sometimes doesn’t count toward Replay stats.


5. System Status

While Apple Music overall is “Operational,” specific sub-features like Replay often have unlisted outages during launch week.

  • What to do: If you have checked your settings and updated the app, just wait a few hours. It is likely a server-side delay.
