The 2025 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (NFR) runs from December 4 through December 13, 2025. The exclusive broadcast rights belong to The Cowboy Channel.
Because the NFR is a niche sporting event, it is not on standard channels like ESPN or CBS.
Here is exactly where to watch it depending on your setup.
1. The Best Option for Most People (Streaming)
If you do not have cable, the official app is the most direct way to watch every round live.
Service: Cowboy Channel+ (Plus)
Cost: Typically $119.99/year (They often push the annual “Everything We Got” package rather than a monthly subscription for the NFR).
Where to Watch: Available on iOS, Android, Roku, Apple TV, and Fire TV.
Notes: This includes all 10 rounds of the NFR plus the “tailgate” pre-shows and buckle presentations.
2. TV Providers (Cable & Satellite)
If you have a traditional TV package, you need to find The Cowboy Channel or RFD-TV.
DISH: Channel 232
DirecTV: Channel 603
Comcast/Xfinity: Varies by location (check your local listings for “The Cowboy Channel”).
Cox: Channel 260
Charter / Spectrum: Varies by location.

3. Cord-Cutting Services (Sling, YouTube TV, etc.)
If you use a live TV streaming service, you can watch The Cowboy Channel, but it usually requires an “Add-on” package. It is rarely in the basic tier.
Sling TV (Cheapest Option):
You need the base Sling Orange or Sling Blue package (~$40/mo).
MUST ADD: The “Heartland Extra” package ($6/mo). This add-on includes The Cowboy Channel and RFD-TV.
DirecTV Stream:
Included in the “Choice” package or higher.
YouTube TV:
Check your “Sports Plus” add-on availability, as it is often tucked away there rather than the base plan.
4. 2025 NFR Schedule & Start Times
Dates: Thursday, Dec 4 – Saturday, Dec 13, 2025.
Performance Start Time: The rodeo competition usually begins at 5:45 PM PT / 8:45 PM ET.
Pre-Show: “NFR Tailgate” and pre-show coverage typically begin around 2:00 PM PT / 5:00 PM ET on The Cowboy Channel.
Pro Tip:
If you are only interested in the NFR and nothing else, checking for a free trial of DirecTV Stream or Sling TV (if available) might get you through part of the 10-day event for free, but you will likely need to pay for at least one month of service to watch the whole thing.
