For Thursday, March 19, 2026, the Fortnite servers are currently down across Australia to prepare for the massive Chapter 7, Season 2: “Showdown” update.

The “Wait Time” Warning: Once the servers are officially “up,” expect a significant login queue. During big launches like Showdown, wait times in Australia can often hit 20–30 minutes as everyone tries to jump in at once. Do not exit the queue once you are in it, or you’ll lose your spot.

Pre-loading the Update: The v40.00 patch is already available for download on PS5, Xbox, and PC. It is a large file (approx. 12GB–18GB depending on platform), so it’s highly recommended to start the download now so it’s ready for the late-night launch.
