Evergy claims that it is reacting to power disruptions in Kansas and Missouri as winds gust to above 70 miles per hour.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Evergy reports that power outages are “minimal and scattered.”

Wednesday’s forecast calls for strong winds, which could result in power disruptions. Crews are prepared and prepared to respond in the case of that occurrence.

Evergy customers can report power outages online at Evergy.com and also sign up for outage alert texts when registering their account online. Evergy Central (1-800-544-4857) or Evergy Metro can be contacted to report outages (1-888-544-4852).

Thousands of customers were without power Wednesday due to a severe wind warning in the Kansas City region.

Wind rates of 50-60 mph are destroying trees, downing power lines, and causing other disruptions throughout the area.

The Kansas City metropolitan area is also under a severe thunderstorm watch, as a line of storms is expected to pass through this evening, bringing with it powerful winds.

Call 888-544-4852 to reach Evergy’s automatic outage reporting system.

As of 5:50 p.m., Independence’s Power and Light Department reported 32 outages. There are around 1,300 customers affected.

Independence Power & Light provided the following actions for customers to follow when reporting power outages and other power-related issues:

To report an outage, call 816-325-7550.

If you call from an account-associated phone number, the system will recognise your address. Otherwise, you will be prompted to provide your account’s address or phone number.

Your address will be included on the map of outages. On the map, the locations of outages are approximate.
A crew will be assigned to ascertain and resolve the issue.

IPL suggests that you select the option for a call back after technicians have restored power to ensure that all issues pertaining to your outage have been resolved.
