This Valorant UEFI Secure Boot Error is a common issue for Windows 11 players. Valorant’s anti-cheat (Vanguard) requires two specific security features to be active: TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot.
If either is off, you will get error codes like VAN 9001 or VAN 9003.
Here is the step-by-step fix.
Please read Step 1 carefully to avoid boot issues.
Step 1: The Safety Check (Do Not Skip)
Before you change any settings in your BIOS, you must ensure your Windows drive is formatted correctly. If you switch to “Secure Boot” on an older drive format (MBR), your computer will not boot.
Press Windows Key + R.
Type
msinfo32and press Enter.Look for BIOS Mode:
If it says UEFI, you are safe to proceed to Step 2.
If it says Legacy, you cannot enable Secure Boot yet. You must convert your drive from MBR to GPT first. (Search for “MBR to GPT conversion” before proceeding, or you will lose access to Windows).

Troubleshooting: “I enabled it but it still says Off”
If you enabled Secure Boot in BIOS but Windows still says “Off”:
Go back to BIOS > Secure Boot.
Look for an option called “Restore Factory Keys” or “Install Default Keys”.
Click it, save, and restart. Secure Boot requires these keys to be active to function.
