You can resolve issues with UPI transactions, such as failed payments where money was debited or stuck transfers, through the official NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India) portal.

How to File a Complaint:

  1. Navigate to the Dispute Redressal Page:

    • Open the link above and scroll down to the “Complaint” section.

  2. Select Transaction Type:

    • Choose whether the issue was with a Person-to-Person (P2P) or Person-to-Merchant (P2M) transfer.

  3. Provide Details:

    • You will need to enter the following from your transaction history:

      • Nature of Transaction: (e.g., Amount debited but not beneficiary credited)

      • Transaction ID: This is usually a 12-digit number starting with the current year (e.g., 6062…).

      • Bank Name: The bank you used for the transaction.

      • Amount and Date: The exact details of the failed payment.

  4. Submit:

    • Attach a screenshot of the failed transaction or your bank statement showing the debit for faster processing.

Additional Support Steps:

  • Check with your App: Before using the NPCI portal, it is usually faster to raise a ticket directly within your UPI app (like Google Pay, PhonePe, or BHIM) under the “Transaction History” or “Help” section.

  • Bank PSP: If the app doesn’t resolve it, you can contact your bank’s dedicated UPI helpdesk.

  • Status of Transaction: If you are checking on a transaction made today, March 3, 2026, keep in mind that “Pending” transactions can sometimes take up to 48 hours to auto-reverse or complete.
