🛠️ Fixes (in order — most effective first)

1. Restart Launcher (Run as Admin)

  1. Close the BSG Launcher completely

  2. Right-click → Run as administrator

  3. Try logging in again

This alone fixes it 30–40% of the time.

2. Clear Launcher Cache (HIGH SUCCESS RATE)

Inside the BSG Launcher:

Settings → Clear cache / Clean temp folder

Then restart the launcher.

3. Check EFT Server Status

When the servers are down or unstable, you often get “Unknown Error.”

Quick check:

  • Try logging in from the mobile app

  • Try a friend’s account (if available) — if both fail, it’s servers

  • Or just tell me, and I’ll check servers for you

4. Repair Game Files

In the launcher:

Settings → Integrity check / Repair

This fixes corrupted or missing files.

5. Flush DNS

On Windows (Admin Command Prompt):

ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew

Then restart your PC.

6. Switch DNS to Google

Sometimes servers fail to resolve the login endpoint.

Go to:
Control Panel → Network → Adapter → IPv4 Settings

Set DNS to:

  • 8.8.8.8

  • 8.8.4.4

Restart and try again.

7. Toggle VPN (On or Off)

  • If you’re using a VPN → TURN IT OFF

  • If you’re NOT using one → try turning one ON and re-logging

Tarkov login sometimes works better through a different route.

8. Disable Antivirus / Firewall Temporarily

Just for testing — some antivirus engines flag EFT’s launcher.

If this fixes it, add exceptions for:

  • BsgLauncher.exe

  • EscapeFromTarkov.exe

9. Reinstall the BSG Launcher

This resolves broken authentication modules.

  1. Uninstall launcher (do NOT delete the game folder)

  2. Download a fresh copy

  3. Reinstall and log in
