Error 1000 in Escape from Tarkov is a Backend Communication Error. It means your game client cannot save your profile data to the main server.
This usually happens for one of three reasons: the servers are overloaded, your local profile data is out of sync (corrupted cache), or—if you are playing PvE/Offline—you have a “bugged” item on your character.
Here is the fix order:
1. The “PvE/Loadout” Fix (Try this first if you are playing PvE)
There is a known bug in recent patches where specific items (certain helmets, cultist knives, or “incompatible” gear) trigger Error 1000 because the server rejects your loadout.
Go to your Character screen.
Unequip EVERYTHING. Take off your gun, armor, helmet, backpack, and secure container.
Try to enter a raid or save your profile while “naked.”
If it works, put your gear back on one piece at a time to find the broken item.
2. The “Logs & Cache” Wipe
If it’s not a specific item, your local handshake data is likely stale.
Close the game and the BSG Launcher.
Go to your Game Installation folder (usually
C:\Battlestate Games\EFT).Delete the folder named
Logs. (Do not worry, the game creates a new one).Open the Launcher -> Click the arrow under your name -> Clear Cache.
Launch the game.
3. The “Wrong Encryption” / Network Fix
Sometimes your router is holding onto a bad connection route to the server.
Open Command Prompt as Administrator.
Type:
ipconfig /flushdnsand hit Enter.Type:
ipconfig /renewand hit Enter.Restart your PC.
4. Check Server Status
If you still get Error 1000, it is highly likely the servers are just down or under maintenance.
Check Tarkov Status.
If the status is “Green” but you still have the error, it might be a temporary “shadow ban” or account lock (often lasts 15–60 minutes) caused by spamming login attempts. Wait 1 hour before trying again.
