Customers may receive bills from other toll authorities regarding toll travel, but never for the same transactions billed by TxTag. Please contact the TxTag Customer Service Center at TxTag.org or by calling 888-468-9824 regarding any questions.

If you have an electronic tag account but you do not have enough money in your tag account to cover your tolls, you will receive a statement in the mail that includes tolls charged at the higher Pay By Mail rates. The statement will also include a mailing fee. You will continue to be charged at the Pay By Mail rates until your electronic tag account is replenished.

By signing up for AutoPay, your account will be automatically replenished when it gets to a preset low balance amount. You could also receive a Pay By Mail bill if your electronic tag was not detected on the toll road and your license plate does not match an existing tag account.

How to Install

Follow the step-by-step instructions to correctly install the TxTag sticker on your windshield. Remember not to peel the backing off the tag until you are ready to stick it to your windshield. Once the tag is placed, movement or removal can damage the electronic chip inside.

Find where to install your TxTag.

Where your tag goes depends on your windshield type:
Mirror attached to ceiling. Center tag on windshield behind rearview mirror four inches below top edge of windshield.
Mirror attached to windshield. Center tag on windshield a half inch below where the mirror attaches to the windshield.
Oversized trucks, cargo trucks, and trucks with flat windshields. Center tag on windshield two inches from the bottom of the windshield.

Install your TxTag in three easy steps.

1. Clean. Clean and dry the inside of your windshield. The windshield’s temperature must be above 50 degrees Fahrenheit for the TxTag to stick.
2. Position. Your TxTag goes on the inside of your windshield behind the rearview mirror. See illustrations above. The tag will not work if you place it too close to metal or metallic tinting.
3. Stick. Peel off the clear backing on the gray side and stick the gray side to the inside of the windshield. Start in the center and smooth the TxTag against the glass in a circular motion to get a tight seal. Once installed, the blue label and TxTag logo should be visible when sitting inside the vehicle.

Having problems?

Your tag may not work if it’s not properly installed, and you may be charged incorrectly for your tolls or be fined for failure to pay on other toll authority roads in Texas.
