TPG Activate SIM : How do I activate my TPG SIM card on my phone?

To activate your new TPG SIM card, please enter the TPG mobile number for which you would like to activate your new SIM for on the page https://www.tpg.com.au/sim-activate. An SMS message with a verification code will be sent to this mobile number.

Activate your Mobile SIM

1. Wait for your SIM to arrive before you attempt to activate.

2. Log in to My Account.

Note: If you’re activating a new Mobile number and don’t have alternative mobile number to receive your passcode to log in to My Account, please call us on 13 14 23 to verify your identity and activate your SIM.

3. Click the check box and select Get Started.

4. New mobile numbers and replacement SIMs typically activate within a few hours, but please allow up to 48 hours for SIM activation.

5. If you’re porting your mobile number to TPG from another provider, make sure your current mobile service is active and ready to receive an SMS. Tick the checkboxes and hit Activate SIM Card.

6. A porting authorisation SMS will be sent to your mobile number such as the example below.

Example:
Use XXXXXX as your verification code to transfer this mobile number to TPG. Please do not reply to this SMS“.

7. Enter the code and click Verify Code. This will start the porting process which takes approximately 3 hours and will only occur during these times:

Monday to Friday: 8 AM to 8 PM AET.
Saturday: 10 AM to 6 PM AET.

8. Keep using your old SIM until it stops working, then that’s your cue to switch to your new TPG SIM.

Checking your order status in My Account

1. Log in to My Account with your Customer ID, Username or Mobile Number and password.

2. Any order in progress appears on the Installation Tracker of the Dashboard.

3. My Account – Install Tracker

The Installation Tracker shows you details of each order step.

4. A tick appears beside any completed step.

5. My Account Install Tracker – Complete Steps.

The current status of your order is highlighted in purple.

6. My Account Install Tracker – current status.

Once hardware is dispatched, a new Status will appear – “Waiting for Hardware Delivery”.

7. For Mobile Sim Only Plans transferring in, you will see each step required.
