TikTok Not Letting Me Post | How to Fix it

If you are unable to post on TikTok right now (Monday, January 26, 2026), you are likely caught in the post-outage instability caused by the platform’s major ownership transition this week.

Yesterday (Jan 25) saw a massive outage, and today users are still reporting that videos get stuck in “Processing,” show 0 views, or fail to upload entirely.

Here is what is happening and how to handle it.

The Root Cause: The “USDS” Migration

This is not just a standard glitch. TikTok recently finalized its deal to become “TikTok USDS” (a new US-based entity) to comply with government requirements.

  • What’s happening: They are currently migrating data and retraining the algorithm on US servers (Oracle).

  • The Result: This has broken the “upload pipeline” for millions of users. The server that processes your video upload is failing to hand it off to the feed.

Fixes You Can Try Today

Since this is a server-side migration, standard fixes (like restarting your phone) might not work, but here are the specific workarounds working for some users right now:

1. Check for the “Terms of Service” Pop-up

The new USDS entity requires you to agree to a new Privacy Policy.

  • The Bug: Sometimes this pop-up gets “stuck” invisible in the background, blocking you from posting.

  • The Fix: Go to your Profile > Menu > Settings. If you see a red dot or a notification about “Terms” or “Account Updates,” click it and accept the new terms. This often unblocks posting.

2. The “Drafts” Warning (Critical) DO NOT uninstall the app to fix this.

  • Because the servers are unstable, your local “Drafts” are safer on your phone than they are trying to sync to the cloud. If you delete the app now, you will lose all your drafts forever, and it likely won’t fix the posting error anyway.

3. “Video Processing” Stuck? Leave it Alone.

If your video says “Being Processed” or “Under Review” for more than 10 minutes:

  • Do not delete and re-upload. This flags your account as “spammy” to the new algorithm.

  • Leave the video up. As the servers catch up (often 6–12 hours later), these videos are suddenly popping live.

4. Toggle “Who Can View This Video”

Some users found a loophole by “waking up” the video privacy settings:

  1. Go to the video in your Drafts.

  2. Tap “Who can watch this video”.

  3. Switch it to Private and post it.

  4. If it successfully posts to your Private tab, open it there, click the three dots, and change privacy back to Everyone.

Summary

If you are in the US, your app is currently being migrated to a new infrastructure. The “Not Posting” error is the #1 reported issue today. If the “Private Mode” trick doesn’t work, you simply have to wait for the migration to stabilize, which is expected to happen over the next 48 hours.
