The “Error 1000 – Wrong Encryption Params” in Escape from Tarkov is a backend synchronization error. It effectively means the communication between your game client and the server has “desynced,” often because the server is sending data in a format your client doesn’t expect or can’t decrypt.
As of today, March 5, 2026, this error is frequently reported following small technical updates or when the profile servers are under heavy load.
Current Server Status (March 5)
Official Status: Battlestate Games (BSG) reports that servers are “Stable,” but regional “Login and Profile Services” are seeing degraded performance in Europe and North America.
The “1.0 Release” Context: Since the game moved to 1.0 in late 2025, the backend load has increased significantly. Error 1000 is currently the most common symptom of the profile servers being unable to handle the concurrent request volume.
Immediate Fixes
If the servers aren’t globally down, the following steps usually force a re-sync:
Clear Cache & Logs (Most Effective):
Open the BSG Launcher.
Click the arrow under your name (top right) and select Clear Cache.
Go to Logs in the same menu, open the folder, and delete everything inside it.
Verify Integrity of Game Files:
In the Launcher, click the same menu and select Integrity Check. This ensures your encryption protocols match the current server version.
The “Profile Refresh” (Web Fix):
Log into your account on the official Tarkov website.
Sometimes simply logging into the browser profile forces the backend to update your “session token,” which clears the 1000 error.
IP Reset (CMD):
Open Command Prompt as Administrator and type:
ipconfig /flushdnsnetsh winsock reset
Restart your PC. This clears stale network paths that might be “tripping” the encryption handshake.

What if the error happens after a Raid?
If you get this error while extracting (common in PvE mode), do not click “Confirm” or close the game immediately if you can help it.
Wait for 3–5 minutes. Often, the backend is just “hanging,” and the profile will eventually sync.
Warning: If you force-close the game during this error, there is a high risk of “Rollback,” where your loot from that raid is lost because the server never received the “End of Raid” encryption packet.
Current Server Status (March 5, 2026)
While there is no major global outage today, the 1.0.2.5 update (recently deployed) has caused intermittent backend instability. If the steps above don’t work, it is a server-side issue at Battlestate Games. Most players report the error clearing up on its own after 15–30 minutes.
