Tarkov Launcher Not Working | The Fix

As of Tuesday, December 2, 2025, many Escape from Tarkov players are reporting launcher issues following the recent 1.0.0.2 Update and server maintenance.

Here is the troubleshooting checklist, ranked by the most common current problems.

1. The “Files Are Corrupted / Integrity Check” Error (Steam Users)

If you are playing on Steam and getting a loop where it says “Files are corrupted” or “Integrity check required,” this is a known bug with the Steam integration.

The Fix:

1. Go to the official Escape from Tarkov website and download the Standalone Launcher (BsgLauncher).

2. Install and run the Standalone Launcher.

3. Log in with your account.

4. Let it “discover” the game files or run a quick repair.

5. Close it and try launching via Steam again.

   • Why this works: The standalone launcher often fixes broken file associations that the Steam client misses during updates.

2. The Black Screen / Infinite Loading

If the launcher opens but is just a black box or freezes:

• Clear the Cache:

  1. Open the launcher (if you can see the menu).

  2. Click the arrow next to your profile name (top right) > Settings.

  3. Click Clear Cache.

• Delete Temp Files (Manual):

  1. Press Win + R, type %appdata%, and navigate to Battlestate Games > BsgLauncher.

  2. Delete the Temp folder and the Content folder.

  3. Restart the launcher as Administrator.

3. “Error 103005” or “Gateway Timeout”

This usually means the backend servers are overloaded or blocking your connection.

• Change DNS:

  • Switch your PC’s DNS settings to Google (8.8.8.8) or Cloudflare (1.1.1.1). This helps bypass ISP routing issues that often flag Battlestate’s Russian servers as “risky.”

• IPv6 Disable:

  • Tarkov’s launcher notoriously hates IPv6. Go to your Network Adapter settings and uncheck “Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)”.

4. Check for Hidden Maintenance

Before reinstalling everything, ensure the servers aren’t actually down.
