The information in this article can help you when you receive error code 2123-1502 when connecting to the Internet, downloading software, or launching downloadable software.

Possible solutions

  • Attempt the Download Again
    1. Select OK to close the error message.
    2. A message indicating that the download stopped because an error has occurred may appear. Select Continue to attempt the download again.
    3. If the same error code appears again, please try continuing the download a few more times.
    4. When the message “Downloading data…” appears, the download should complete normally.
  • Restart the Nintendo Switch console.

To restart the console, press the POWER Button for three seconds, and then select Power Options, followed by Turn Off. When the console has turned off, press the POWER button to turn it back on again.

  • Test your Internet connection

Test your Internet connection to ensure that your Nintendo Switch is still connected to the Internet.

  • Create a new Internet connection.

Set up a new Internet connection, ensuring that you are attempting to connect to the correct network, and that you are receiving a strong wireless signal from the network.

  • Manually enter an alternate DNS.

If the DNS you are attempting to use is not working, entering an alternate DNS may resolve this issue.

  • The following are public DNS provided by Google and are subject to Google’s Terms of Service. If you prefer to not use this service, doing an Internet search for public DNS will provide you with several other options you can use.
  • If you wish to use your own DNS servers, you may do so by entering in the DNS servers found in your network settings.

Complete these steps

  1. Select Settings from the HOME Menu of your Nintendo Switch console.
  2. Select Internet, and then Internet Settings. Your Nintendo Switch will automatically search for nearby Wi-Fi signals.
  3. Select your network from the list of networks located under Registered Networks.
  4. Select Change Settings, then scroll down and select DNS Settings.
  5. Select Manual.
  6. Select Primary DNS, and then hold down the B Button to delete the DNS (it defaults to zeros).
  7. Enter 8.8.8.8 as the primary DNS, and then select OK.
  8. Select Secondary DNS, and then hold down the B Button to delete the existing DNS.
  9. Enter 8.8.4.4 as the secondary DNS, and then select OK.
  • Connect to the Internet at a different location or access point.

A Nintendo Account is required to use certain services from Nintendo, such as off-device game purchases and the My Nintendo loyalty program. A Nintendo Account can be linked to your Nintendo Network ID, Facebook, Twitter, Google, or Apple accounts. (Only users age 13 and older can link to social media accounts.)

There are some additional age-related requirements for Nintendo Accounts:

• Users aged 13 or older can create a Nintendo Account.

• Nintendo Account users age 18 and older can create and add up to five Nintendo Accounts for children (age 17 and under) to their Nintendo Account.

• Users age 12 and under cannot create a Nintendo Account. They can only be created within an existing parent/guardian’s Nintendo Account.

Is the person that will be using the account age 13 or older?

1. Go to the Nintendo Account website and click Sign in/Create account.

2. Click Create a Nintendo Account.

3. Enter your date of birth and click Submit.

4. Select the sign-in method you want to use.

• If creating a Nintendo Account through a Nintendo mobile app on an iOS device (such as an iPhone or iPad), you will only be able to create your Nintendo Account using an Apple ID, Facebook, Google, or Twitter. You can still link these accounts after you create your Nintendo Account, or you can visit the Nintendo Account website through your internet browser to create your Nintendo Account.

What sign in information would you like to use?

1. If you would like to create a Nintendo Account without using a social media account, scroll down to the account information fields towards the bottom of the screen.
• Once you have created a Nintendo Account, you will always have the option to link an NNID or social media service later.

2. Enter the following information into the fields:

• Nickname: 10 characters or less

• Email address: Your email address can be tied to one Nintendo Account only.

• Password: Passwords must be at least 8 characters long and include a combination of characters from 2 of the following categories: letters, numbers, and punctuation.

• Date of birth

• Gender (Optional)

• Country of residence

• Time zone

3. Review the Nintendo Account User Agreement and click Submit if you agree to the terms and conditions.

• You may receive a message stating that you are not eligible to create an account if your age does not meet the requirements.

4. A verification code will be sent to the email address you provided. When you receive the email, enter the code into the “Verification code” field and click Verify.

• Your verification code should arrive within a few minutes, and expires one hour from when it was sent.

• If it has been over one hour since you requested the verification code but you have not received an email, make sure that you are entering your email address correctly in the account creation screen, and click resend verification code to have a new verification code sent.

5. You’re done! You can now use your Nintendo Account to participate in various online services, such as the My Nintendo loyalty program.

Apple ID, Facebook, Google, or Twitter Sign in

1. Click the service you would like to sign up with (Facebook, Google, Twitter, or Apple ID).

2. Enter your log in information if needed. Review the site’s terms and if you agree to them, proceed to create your account.

• If you do not remember your log in information for the service you want to use, please visit that site’s Help area for assistance.

3. Review the Nintendo Account User Agreement and click Submit if you agree to the terms and conditions.

• You may receive a message stating that you are not eligible to create an account if your age does not meet the requirements.

4. A verification code will be sent to the email address you provided. When you receive the email, enter the code into the Verification code field and click Verify.
