Star Citizen Anti Cheat Error 70003 | Check Server Status

In Star Citizen, Error 70003 is an Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) authentication timeout. It means the anti-cheat service cannot verify your game session with the servers.

This error is frequently caused by server-side issues (AWS outages) or corrupted local EAC files. Follow these steps in order to fix it.

1. Check Server Status First

Before troubleshooting your PC, ensure the game servers aren’t down. Error 70003 is often the first symptom of a global outage.

  • Check: status.robertsspaceindustries.com

  • Action: If the platform status is “Degraded” or “Partial Outage,” wait 30–60 minutes and try again. User fixes will not work during server outages.

2. The “EAC Folder Delete” (Most Reliable Fix)

If servers are online, your local anti-cheat files are likely corrupted or out of sync.

  1. Close the game and the RSI Launcher completely (check your system tray near the clock).

  2. Navigate to your installation folder (Default: C:\Program Files\Roberts Space Industries\StarCitizen\LIVE).

  3. Delete the EasyAntiCheat folder.

  4. Open the RSI Launcher.

  5. Go to Settings > Verify (or “Analyze Game Files”).

  6. This will force the launcher to download a fresh, uncorrupted copy of the anti-cheat driver.

3. Delete the EAC AppData Cache

Sometimes the corruption is in your user profile data, not the game folder.

  1. Press Win + R on your keyboard.

  2. Type %appdata% and press Enter.

  3. Locate the EasyAntiCheat folder and delete it.

  4. Restart the RSI Launcher and try launching the game.

4. Sync Windows Time

EAC is extremely sensitive to time discrepancies.

  • Right-click your system clock > Adjust date and time.

  • Click Sync now.

  • Note: Even if your time looks correct, a drift of just a few seconds can trigger Error 70003.

5. Launcher Reset

If the launcher itself is caching bad authentication tokens:

  1. Open the RSI Launcher.

  2. Press Ctrl + Shift + R.

  3. Click OK to confirm the reset.

  4. Log back in and attempt to launch.

Summary of Quick Checks

  • Close Overlays: Disable Discord or GeForce Experience overlays temporarily, as EAC can flag them as “intrusion.”

  • AMD Users: If you recently updated your GPU drivers, check the “Gaming” tab in Adrenalin software and disable “Anti-Lag” feature for Star Citizen, as it can sometimes conflict with EAC.
