About a month before your transition date, you’ll be sent an email or letter asking you to set up your Schwab Login ID and password. Instructions will also be provided when you’re logged in at tdameritrade.com. It should take about 5 minutes to set up your login info.

When you set up your Schwab login info, you’ll be able to preview a list of your TD Ameritrade accounts that are moving to Schwab. You won’t see the assets in your Schwab account until after your transition is complete.

It’s recommended that you set up your login info before your account transitions so you’re ready to go on day one at Schwab. If your account has multiple owners or authorized parties, each individual will need to set up their own Login ID and password to be able to view and trade on the account.

How do I log in to my account for the first time?

First time logging in? Here’s how it works:

1. Go to Schwab.com.
2. Click on the “Log in” link at the top of the page.
3. Click on the “New User” link next to the Login ID form field.
4. Follow the simple instructions to set up your Login ID and password.

Schwab Mobile App

At Schwab, login info is tied to an individual person. Each Schwab client has their own unique Login ID and password, which automatically link all the accounts that they own or are authorized to access. When you log in to Schwab.com or the Schwab Mobile app, you will see all of your accounts together on your Accounts Summary page. You only ever need to set up one set of credentials.

To get anytime, anywhere access to your account on the Schwab Mobile app once your account transitions:

• Download the Schwab Mobile app from the App Store^® or Google Play™.
• Log in to the app with your Schwab Login ID and password.

You’ll receive information on how to set up your Schwab login info before your account transition date. If you already have a Schwab account, you’ll use your existing Schwab Login ID and password.

Once on the app, you’ll be able to view real-time, streaming market data, get breaking news on your positions, get quotes and place trades, view watchlists, and monitor orders and positions with tools optimized for tablets and smartphones.

How do I login to my Schwab 529 account?

If you already have another Schwab account that you reach by logging in to schwab.com:

1. Go to schwab.com
2. Click on the “Log in” link at the top of the page and select “Schwab.com”.
3. Enter your Schwab login ID and password.
4. After logging in, locate your Schwab 529 account on the Account Summary page. Click on the Education link to view detailed information.

If the 529 account is the only account you have at Schwab or you do not access your other account(s) by logging into schwab.com:

1. Go to schwab.com
2. Click on the “Log in” link at the top of the page.
3. Select “Schwab 529” or “Learning Quest^® 529″ in the drop-down list, depending on which 529 plan you participate in.
4. Enter your User Name and Password (This is the user name and password you selected when you applied for your 529 account online, or when you enrolled the account for online access.)

If you have other Schwab accounts and this is your first time logging in:

1. Go to schwab.com.
2. Click on the “Log in” link at the top of the page and select “Schwab.com”.
