You can follow these steps:
1. SASSA Status Check (General Application Status)
📱 Online Status Check:
Visit the official SASSA Website: SASSA Online Services
Navigate to “Check your status” under the Social Grants section.
Enter your ID number and grant type to check the status of your application (whether it’s approved, pending, or denied).
📨 SMS Status Check:
Send an SMS with the text “Status” followed by your ID number to 082 046 8553.
📞 Phone Status Check:
Call the SASSA toll-free number: 0800 60 10 11. You will need your ID number and grant type to get the status.
2. Appeal Status Check
If your application has been rejected and you’ve filed an appeal, you can check its status:
📱 Online Appeal Status:
Visit the official SASSA Appeals page: SASSA Appeal Status
Log in with your appeal reference number to track the appeal status.
📞 Call for Appeal Status:
Contact SASSA at the number above to inquire about the status of your appeal.
You’ll need to provide your ID number and appeal reference number.

3. SASSA Balance Check (for Grant Payments)
📱 Check Balance via SMS:
Send an SMS to 082 046 8553 with the word “Balance” followed by your ID number. You should receive your grant balance.
💻 SASSA Mobile App (SASSA e-Services App):
Download the SASSA e-Services App from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
Log in with your grant details and check your payment status and balance.
🏧 ATM Balance Check:
If you have a SASSA Gold Card, you can check your balance at any ATM that supports SASSA card transactions.
