If you’re getting a “network error” when trying to use YouTube on your Samsung Smart TV, Go to Settings > General > Network > Network Status.
Here are the most effective troubleshooting steps to fix it:
✅ 1. Check Your Internet Connection
Go to Settings > General > Network > Network Status.
Ensure the TV is connected to your Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
Try restarting your router and TV.
✅ 2. Cold Reboot the TV
This clears memory and background app issues:
With the TV on, press and hold the power button on the remote until the TV turns off and back on (about 5 seconds).
OR unplug it from the wall for 30 seconds, then plug it back in.
✅ 3. Update the YouTube App
Press the Home button on your remote.
Go to Apps > YouTube > More Options (⋮) > Update, if available.
✅ 4. Clear YouTube Cache (for newer models)
Go to Settings > Support > Device Care > Manage Storage.
Select YouTube, then click View Details and Clear Cache.

✅ 5. Update Your Samsung TV Software
Go to Settings > Support > Software Update > Update Now.
✅ 6. Reinstall YouTube
Go to Apps > Settings > YouTube > Delete.
Then reinstall it from the Samsung App Store.
✅ 7. Set DNS Manually (Improves Connection Stability)
Go to Settings > Network > Network Status > IP Settings > DNS Setting > Enter Manually.
Use 8.8.8.8 or 1.1.1.1, then restart your TV.
✅ 8. Reset Smart Hub (Last Resort)
This will log you out of all apps:
Go to Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis > Reset Smart Hub.
Enter your TV PIN (default is
0000if you haven’t changed it).
If you’ve tried all these steps and the issue persists, the problem may be outside of your control, such as a temporary service outage from Samsung or YouTube. You may need to wait for an official fix or contact Samsung Support for further assistance.
