Sabarimala Spot Booking | Check Availability and Booking Limits

The situation for spot booking at Sabarimala is currently highly restricted due to overcrowding and recent High Court orders. Spot booking facilities at Pamba, Erumely, and Chengannur are currently closed/suspended to control the rush.

As of today, Saturday, December 6, 2025, here is the latest status:

1. Spot Booking Availability

  • Status: Restricted.

  • Active Counters: Spot booking is currently available ONLY at:

    • Nilakkal (Main Base Camp)

    • Vandiperiyar (Sathram)

  • Suspended Counters: Spot booking facilities at Pamba, Erumely, and Chengannur are currently closed/suspended to control the rush. Do not rely on getting a ticket at these locations.

2. Booking Limits

  • Daily Cap: The number of spot booking slots is capped at 5,000 per day.

  • Rush Warning: These 5,000 slots fill up extremely quickly (often in the early morning). If you arrive without a Virtual Queue booking and miss the spot booking quota, you may be denied entry to Sannidhanam.

3. Mandatory Requirements

  • Documents: You must produce your Aadhaar Card (original or clear copy) to book a spot. Voter ID or Passport are sometimes accepted if Aadhaar is unavailable, but Aadhaar is the standard.

  • Virtual Queue Priority: Police are strictly enforcing entry based on Virtual Queue bookings. If you have a Virtual Queue booking, you must arrive on the exact date and time slot printed on your pass. Arriving on a different date may lead to being stopped at Pamba.

Summary of Advice

If you have not yet started your journey:

  1. Check Virtual Queue First: Try to book a slot online at [suspicious link removed].

  2. Go to Nilakkal Early: If you must use spot booking, go directly to Nilakkal (not Pamba or Erumely). Arrive very early in the morning to have a chance at securing one of the 5,000 daily passes.

  3. Expect Delays: Be prepared for long wait times, as the “Status Quo” order from the High Court (reaffirmed on Dec 3) means strict crowd control measures are still in force.
