How to add to and check your Google Play balance
Your Google Play balance is credit that you can use to buy apps, games and digital content on Google Play. Here’s how you can add money to top up your balance:
- Redeem Google Play gift cards.
- Redeem digital gift codes.
- Use a promo code.
It’s not possible to share or transfer content between accounts on Google Play, even if you own both accounts. If you have multiple accounts on your device, make sure that you sign in to the account that you want to use before you complete your purchase.
If you’ve bought an app on the wrong account, contact the app developer. They may be able to refund your purchase so that you can buy it again on the account that you want to use.

Verify your payment info
Your payments profile might be deactivated. To reactivate your profile, submit your payment information.
- Sign in to Google Pay.
- At the top, select Alerts.
- If you have a red alert, enter your payment information and wait for the team to respond.
- Check your email for the review results.
Try to pay with a different payment method
If there’s a problem with one payment method, you can try paying with a different one.
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Play Store app .
- Go back to the item that you want to buy and tap the price.
- Tap the current payment method.
- Choose a different payment method or add a new one.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete your purchase.

You can go to a corner shop and add cash to your Google Play balance.
Note: The corner shop may charge additional fees to add cash to your Google Play balance.
