Launch the Paramount+ app, and select “Sign Up.” You’ll see an access code displayed on your TV screen. Visit paramountplus.com/vizio on your computer or mobile web browser, and enter your access code, then click “Activate.”

Sign up for Paramount+ on your Vizio TV

You can sign up for Paramount+ on your Vizio TV with these simple steps:

1. Launch the Paramount+ app, and select “Sign Up.” You’ll see an access code displayed on your TV screen.

2. Visit paramountplus.com/vizio on your computer or mobile web browser, and enter your access code, then click “Activate.”

3. Choose a subscription plan, then click “Continue.”

4. You will be prompted to create a Paramount+ account, or if you already have one, sign in.

5. Enter your payment information, then click “Start Paramount+.”

6. You’ll see a confirmation screen, and you can return to your TV to stream Paramount+.

Stream Paramount+ on your Vizio TV (existing subscribers)

Once you have added the Paramount+ app, there are two ways to sign in:

On your TV

  1. Go to Settings > Sign In.
  2. Select On my TV.
  3. Enter the email address and password you used when subscribing to Paramount+ and select Sign In. That’s it!

Paramount Plus on Vizio TV

On your device

  1. Launch the Paramount+ app, then select Sign In.
  2. Select On the Web.
  3. You’ll be presented with a website and a code. Make a note of this code—you’ll need it for the next step.
  4. Visit paramountplus.com/vizio on your computer or mobile device, enter your activation code, and select “Activate”. If you’re not signed in to Paramount+ on your computer, you’ll need to do so here.
  5. Your screen will refresh, and you can start streaming on your Vizio TV.

Switch your plan

If you signed up for Paramount+ on your TV, use the steps below to change your plan. Note that you cannot switch subscription plans directly on your TV.

  1. Go to paramountplus.com.
  2. Click on your profile in the top right corner, then select Account from the dropdown (-OR- go to paramountplus.com/account).
  3. Select Change Your Plan.
  4. Select your new plan.

Your new plan will be confirmed on your Account page.

Force close the Paramount+ (app crashing)

If the app crashes, you can resolve this by force closing your TV with these steps:

  1. On the Vizio Smart TV remote, hold down the “Back” button to restart the app. If you do a quick hold (by holding it down halfway), it will display the exit menu.
  2. Relaunch the Paramount+ app.

Update to the latest Paramount+ app version

Vizio smart TVs automatically check to ensure you’re always running the latest version of the app and your TV’s software. You can also manually check for updates to the Paramount+ app:

  1. Press the Menu button on your remote control.
  2. Scroll down and select System.
  3. Select “Check for Updates.”

Find your IP address or device ID 

Encountering issues when streaming live TV, like the video keeps loading or you see a black screen? If you need to contact customer support, we’ll need your IP address or device ID to resolve the problem. Here’s how you can find them.

To find your IP address:

  1. Press the Menu button on your remote device and select the System option
  2. Select System Information, then scroll down to the IP address. It will be a private IP address if you are using router to connect to your ISP

To find your Device ID

  1. Launch the Paramount+ app.
  2. Select Settings, then Support.
  3. Your Device ID appears on the Support screen.

Restart your device to fix streaming issues

If you have trouble streaming, you can often clear the underlying issue by power cycling your TV with these steps:

  1. Unplug the power cord from the back of the TV or from the outlet.
  2. Once the TV is unplugged, press and hold the power button on the TV for 15 to 30 seconds. On most Vizio TVs, the power button is located on the backside of the TV in the bottom left corner.
  3. Now plug the power cable back into the TV or outlet (whichever was disconnected) and power the TV on.

Turn on accessibility features (closed captions, audio descriptions)

There are several ways to turn on accessibility features:

On your Vizio TV

  1. Select your desired show
  2. Click the “CC” button that appears next to the “Watch Now” button on your Vizio TV screen.
  3. To turn on closed captions, click an option under “Subtitles”. To turn on audio descriptions, click an option under “Audio”.

Via the Vizio SmartCast menu on your remote

  1. Power on your display and select the Menu button on your IR Remote.
  2. When the sidebar menu appears on your screen, scroll down and select Closed Captions.
  3. To turn on closed captions, click an option under “Subtitles”. To turn on audio descriptions, click an option under “Audio”.

On the Vizio Remote Control

  1. Simply press the “CC” button. You can now select an option under “Subtitles” for closed captions or “Audio” for audio descriptions.

If you’d like to format closed captions, go to your device’s homescreen:

Select the “CC” button, then “Custom” as the Caption Style. You can now choose options for text size, color and other elements.
