New Mexico Stimulus Checks 2022 : Is New Mexico giving out stimulus checks?

In 2022, the State of NM may make rebate (also known as stimulus) payments of up to $750 ($1500 for families) to ALL NEW MEXICANS who qualify.

In 2022, New Mexicans will be eligible for “rebates” or “relief payments” under two new laws. In order to be eligible for the rebates, you must file your New Mexico state income taxes by the due date in 2021. Rebates of $250 in June, $250 in August, and $250 or more in July, depending on income, are available to singles who meet the requirements. There will be $500 in June and August and, depending on income, another $500 in July for qualified families or heads of household. Your payment dates may be affected by the timing of your New Mexico income tax returns filings.

Due Date: May 31, 2022 was the deadline to apply for the $500 (or $1,000 for families) relief payment. As of July 4, 2022, those who have applied for a relief payment should receive it. However, if you file your New Mexico income taxes, you can still get the rebate money (NM PIT-1). Your 2022 New Mexico tax returns may be filed at any time before May 31, 2023, as long as you do not get the relief payment in that year.

Household Relief for New Mexico Residents

Tax refunds of $500 for married couples filing jointly, heads of household and surviving spouses earning less than $150,000, and $250 for singles and married persons earning less than $75,000 who file separately are available to these tax filers.

Qualifying individuals who have filed a Personal Income Tax (PIT) form for 2021 will receive rebates automatically. There is no application process. The publication date is July 2022.

Single and married persons filing separately, as well as heads of households, and surviving spouses, are eligible for a refundable $500 income tax credit. Taxpayers who submitted a 2021 PIT return will be automatically refunded. The process of submitting an application is not needed here. Issued on: Two $250 or $500 payments between June and August 2022.

For married couples or single individuals with one or more dependents, relief payments of $1,000 will be made to New Mexicans who do not file income tax returns; for single individuals without dependents, relief payments will be $500. A total of $20 million has been budgeted by the Legislature for these payments, which will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.

They were also approved during the Special Session of the Legislature in 2022. You may be eligible for additional cash incentives if you submit taxes, which the state encourages. The New Mexico Human Services Department will begin accepting applications for relief payments on May 2, 2022, at yes.state.nm.us. The publication date is July 3, 2022.
