Miami Cloudflare Error Fix | Error Page Displays “Colo: MIA” Or “Miami”

You are likely seeing a Cloudflare 5xx Error (like Error 520, 521, or 522) where the footer of the error page displays “Colo: MIA” or “Miami”.

This does not mean your computer is broken. It means the specific Cloudflare Data Center in Miami (MIA) is having trouble connecting to the website or game server you are trying to reach. This is a server-side infrastructure issue.

Here is how to fix it or work around it.

1. The “VPN Bypass” (Most Effective Fix)

Since the error is specific to the Miami server node, you can often force your connection to use a different Cloudflare data center by changing your virtual location.

  • Turn on a VPN: Connect to a server in a different city (e.g., Atlanta, Dallas, or New York).

  • Retry the Website/Game: Your traffic will now route through that city’s Cloudflare node (e.g., “Colo: ATL” or “Colo: DFW”), likely bypassing the broken Miami node.

2. Check if it’s a Wider Outage

Sometimes a single data center failure is a sign of a larger regional issue.

  • Check the Cloudflare System Status page.

  • Scroll down to North America and look for Miami, FL. If it says “Re-routing” or “Partial Outage,” you simply have to wait for them to fix it.

3. Flush Your DNS

If the Miami server is back online but your computer is still trying to use a “stale” broken route, this will force a refresh.

  • Windows: Open Command Prompt as Admin → Type ipconfig /flushdns → Press Enter.

  • Mac: Open Terminal → Type sudo dscacheutil -flushcache; sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder → Press Enter.

4. Are you playing Call of Duty?

If you are playing Modern Warfare 3 or Warzone and see a “Miami” related error, you might actually be seeing the error code “NIAMEY – LOGAN” (which looks very similar).

  • The Fix: This is a corrupt data error. You usually need to choose “Scan and Repair” in the Battle.net launcher or verify your game files on Steam.

Summary:

If it’s a website/browser error, use a VPN to switch cities. If it’s a Call of Duty game error, verify your game files.
