Available Balance – The current balance, minus any “monetary holds” or “deposits pending”. The balance does not include funds in any accounts designated as protecting accounts for LGFCU’s Overdraft Transfer Service. For share, Zard share, FAT CAT, Coverdell ESA, IRA or SEP IRA accounts where a minimum balance must be maintained, the Available Balance includes this required minimum balance amount; however, this balance amount cannot be transferred to another account for any purpose. The Available Balance is used to determine if you have enough funds available to pay items. The Available Balance may not reflect every transaction or the final amount of every transaction you have initiated or authorized. Please see the Account Disclosures for more information.

Current Balance – The beginning balance plus or minus any items in Activity Today that have not yet posted. The balance does not include funds in any accounts designated as protecting accounts for LGFCU’s Overdraft Transfer Service. Items in Activity Today include transactions that we have received but have not yet posted to your account. The Current Balance does not include items such as scheduled BillPay transactions and checks that you have written but that have not yet cleared your account.

Checking Account Activity Today Detail

Pending transactions included in the Activity Today total have been received and are reflected in the current balance but not yet posted to the account. You may view most transaction details included in Activity Today on the Activity Today Detail page. When transactions have posted to the account history, they should be deleted from the Activity Today Detail page during our nightly processing (approximately 2 am Eastern).

At this time, not all pending transaction details can be displayed on this page. The pending transactions that cannot be displayed are included in the Other total listed at the top of the page. More details will be added to this page as updates are made to our host systems.

Point of Sale

The Point of Sale transactions displayed on the Activity Today Details page are authorizations submitted by the merchant. The authorization amount is an estimate by the merchant which can be for more or less than the actual debit amount authorized by you. For example, restaurants usually authorize the amount of the meal without the tip. Authorizations may remain in activity for up to 3 business days. The actual debits for Point of Sale transactions can take up to 3 or more business days to be submitted by the merchant and received by the Credit Union for posting.

Additionally, you should know that a merchant may reverse the authorization at your request, and/or extend or modify the amount of the authorization in certain circumstances (such as an extended hotel stay). If an extension or modification is submitted by a merchant, the hold on your account will be extended or modified.
