Introduction

The Xfinity Stream Beta app on Fire TV devices lets Xfinity customers enjoy content available with their Xfinity subscription from their Amazon Fire TV device.

You can use the Xfinity Stream Beta app on Amazon Fire TV devices prior to installation of your Xfinity TV and Internet services.

Navigating the Xfinity Stream App for Fire TV

  1. The Xfinity Stream app will open to show Featured and Just Recorded content.

  2. Using the Navigation circle pad on your Fire TV remote, scroll through the options and press the center Select button to choose an option.
  3. Press the Menu button (the button with three lines) to bring up more options.
  4. To return to the Xfinity Stream app home screen, press the Back button (the button with the arrow).

ELIGIBILITY

  • The Xfinity Stream Beta app is available to all customers with Xfinity TV and Xfinity Internet service. Features vary depending on your services.
  • Must be an Xfinity TV customer to stream live TV and Xfinity On Demand content. You can watch anything included with your Xfinity TV subscription. The program you want to watch must be on a channel included in your channel lineup. For example, your channel lineup must include HBO Max for you to view or download HBO Max programs.
    • Non-Xfinity TV customers can watch select content for no additional charge.
  • Must be a DVR service customer to stream DVR recordings.
  • Must have an Xfinity ID and password to get service on your Fire TV device.
  • Must be connected to in-home Xfinity Internet to stream full channel lineup and full Xfinity On Demand library.
  • Must be connected to a WiFi or mobile network to stream DVR recordings to access out of home.
  • Your device must have an active Internet connection via WiFi or a 3G/4G cellular network. Using a cellular network may incur data charges; check your wireless provider’s rate plan for details.
  • Xfinity Flex customers.
  • If you just ordered Xfinity TV service and are waiting for equipment to be installed in your home, you can stream a popular selection of live sports, news, and On Demand shows and movies — included with your Xfinity TV service.
  • Pay-per-view events aren’t available in the app.

DEVICE CAPABILITIES – STREAM LIMITS

Concurrent stream limits apply to Xfinity Stream devices (phone, tablet, laptop, TV):

  • Five concurrent streams across all account devices for X1 customers
    • Only three of these devices can be off the customer’s in-home WiFi network
  • Two concurrent streams across all devices for Xfinity Instant TV customers
  • One stream across all devices for X1 On Campus customers

ACTIVATION INSTRUCTIONS – GETTING STARTED

You’ll need to create an Amazon account and link it to your compatible Fire TV device before downloading the Xfinity Stream Beta app. See detailed instructions on how to create an account and link a device here.

SUPPORTED FIRE TV DEVICES

The Xfinity Stream Beta app is available on most Fire TV devices. Any Fire TV running Android 4 or earlier isn’t supported. Visit the Amazon App Store to download the latest version.

  1. Launch the Xfinity Stream Beta app. If your Fire TV device hasn’t been activated, you’ll see the Welcome screen. Select Get Started to continue. If your Smart TV has already been activated, you’ll see the main menu.

  2. The Activation Code screen will appear on your Fire TV device. On another device (like a mobile phone, tablet or laptop – not from your Fire TV), go to xfinity.com/authorize to continue the activation process.
  3. From the web browser on your second device (not the Fire TV), enter the six-digit code provided from the Xfinity Stream Beta app.
  4. The web browser will show a “Success!” message, notifying you that your Fire TV device has been activated and the activation screen on the Xfinity Stream App will update shortly.
  5. You’ll see the main menu. You’re ready to begin using the app!
