We imagined a place where people could build their chess home online and all in one place: to play in a safe and friendly environment, find friends, save their games, tell their chess stories, share ideas, and learn from each other. Over the next several years, Jay and I poured our life savings, our hearts, and most of our waking hours into building Chess.com. But we never imagined what Chess.com would become!

I played and won a couple of games and the other player who lost the games blocked me from your site.Why? What can I do to stop it from happening again?
The player you are referring to may have blocked you from contacting or challenging them only. Each player is allowed to block someone from playing them for a variety of reasons. You still have full access to the site, you just cannot contact that player.
How does membership renewal work?
If you paid by credit-card or PayPal, our monthly and annual subscriptions renew automatically. If you are enjoying your benefits there is nothing you need to do.
However, if you wish to cancel auto-renewal at any time, you can easily do so from your account page:

From there, click on ‘Manage Account’

In the next menu, click ‘Cancel my Membership’
Your membership will still be active. This will only cancel the renewal. You will not lose the time you have already paid for. Once your membership ends, you’ll have to resubscribe, or continue with a Basic account.
Google users
If you are subscribed through Google you will also have the option of cancelling through your Google account. Please see these steps:
- Go to play.google.com.
- Check if you’re signed in to the correct Google Account.
- At the left, click My subscriptions.
- Select the subscription you want to cancel.
- Click Manage
- Cancel Subscription.
- Within the confirmation pop-up, click Yes.
