Download the Spotify app on your PS5, PS4, or PS3 to listen to your favorite music and podcasts on your console.
Logging in
Open the Spotify app on your console, then choose one of these ways to log in:
- Enter your Spotify email address and password.
- Open the Spotify app on your phone or tablet, and find your device using Spotify Connect.
When you log in to Spotify, your account links to your PlayStation Network account. This automatically logs you in to Spotify whenever you log in to your PSN account.
Listen while you game
When you play Spotify on your PS5 or PS4, it continues to play while you game.
Tip: If the game allows, you can disable in-game music for the best Spotify experience.
PlayStation 5
Find Spotify in the Media home, or in the control center:
- Press the PS button on your controller to open the control center.
- Select Music.
Or, use Spotify Connect to use your phone to control the music remotely.
The music or podcast that’s playing appears as a card in the control center. Select the card to skip songs, play/pause, or adjust the volume.
PlayStation 4 or PS4
To control Spotify while you game:
- Press and hold the PS button on your controller to bring up the quick menu.
- Select Spotify.
- Here you can skip songs, play/pause, or adjust the volume.
Or, use Spotify Connect to use your phone to control the music remotely.
Unlink Spotify from PlayStation Network
To unlink your PSN account from Spotify:
- Go to your Account Overview page.
- Click Apps.
- Click Remove Access for Sony.
To use Spotify Connect, make sure:
- All devices are on the same WiFi network
- Your Spotify app is up-to-date
- All devices’ software is up-to-date
For compatible devices, check with the manufacturer.
How do I use Spotify web player?
- Go to the Spotify Browse page.
- Select Log In. If you don’t have a Spotify account, select Sign Up and create a new account using either your email address or your Facebook account.
- Enter your username and password and select Login. Or, select Log In With Facebook.
Not working?
- Make sure your browser is up-to-date. Check and update it in your browser’s Help section.
- Try opening the web player in a private/incognito window.
- Some shared or public networks (e.g. schools/work/office) restrict access to certain services. You can contact those responsible for managing the network for more information.
