How To Enable MFA Fortnite | Multi-Factor Authentication

Enabling Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on your Fortnite account adds an extra layer of security and helps prevent unauthorized access.

Here’s how to do it:

1. Go to the Epic Games Website:

  • Open your web browser and go to the Epic Games website.
  • Sign in to your Epic Games account.

2. Access Account Settings:

  • Click on your account name in the top right corner.
  • Select “Account” from the drop-down menu.

3. Navigate to Password & Security:

  • In the Account menu, click on the “Password & Security” tab.

4. Enable Two-Factor Authentication:

  • Scroll down to the “Two-Factor Authentication” section.
  • You’ll see two options:
    • Authenticator App: This is the most secure option. You’ll need to download an authenticator app (like Google Authenticator, Authy, or Microsoft Authenticator) on your smartphone.
    • Email Authentication: This option sends a code to your email address.

5. Choose Your Preferred Method:

  • If you choose Authenticator App:
    • Click “Enable Authenticator App.”
    • Scan the QR code with your authenticator app.
    • Enter the 6-digit code from the app to confirm.
    • Optional: Click “Get Backup Codes” to generate codes you can use if you lose access to your authenticator app. Store these codes securely.
  • If you choose Email Authentication:
    • Click “Enable Email Authentication.”
    • Epic Games will send a security code to your email address.
    • Enter the code on the website to confirm.

That’s it! You’ve successfully enabled MFA on your Fortnite account.

Important Notes:

  • Verify your email address: Make sure the email address associated with your Epic Games account is verified before enabling MFA.
  • Remember your choice: If you use an authenticator app, you’ll need it every time you log in. If you use email authentication, you’ll need access to your email.
  • Keep your information up-to-date: Make sure your email address and phone number (if applicable) are always up-to-date in your Epic Games account settings.

By enabling MFA, you’ve significantly increased the security of your Fortnite account.
