How-to Add Work Email to Android Phone

For some having their work email wherever they go is important.  If you have any Android phone it is easy as setting up any other email account.

1. Open the email app and click on add new account or find the button that says Manage Accounts.  Click on that button to add a new account.  Type in your work email and password.  Do not click Next, instead click Manual setup.

2. Select IMAP account

3. There are some changes to be made on the Incoming server settings.
  • Type in your entire email again for user name
  • Change the IMAP server to m.outlook.com
  • From the drop down menu select SSL for your security type

Then click Next
4. Last set of changes for Outgoing server settings.
  • Change SMTP server to m.outlook.com
  • From pull down menu select TLS security
  • Make sure that the Require sign-in is checked (by default it is)
Click Next
The next 2 pages are setting up the sync schedule and giving your name an account.  Now you will be able to send and receive work email from your phone.
