Here’s how to activate or deactivate individual Dialog TV channels in Sri Lanka:

📲 1. SMS Method

  • From a Dialog mobile:

    ON <Your DTV account no> <Channel no>

    Send to 679 to activate, or use OFF to deactivate.

  • From any other mobile:

    ON <DTV account no> <Channel no>

    Send to 0770 679 679, or use OFF to remove.

🏷️ Note: Your STB must be ON when sending the SMS.

📞 2. Toll-Free Missed Call

  • Dial 07600 79XXX, where XXX = the channel number (e.g. dial 0760079069 to activate channel 69).

  • Channels under 100 require an extra zero (e.g. 069 → dial 0760079069).

📌 You’ll see an on-screen confirmation; charges are added to your monthly bill automatically.

📱 3. Via MyDialog App or Web Portal

  • Open the MyDialog app → go to Dialog TV section → activate/deactivate channels with a toggle.

  • Alternatively, log in at dialog.lk, head to your TV account dashboard, and manage channels there.

📶 4. USSD Self‑Help

  • Dial #679# from your phone → select option 1 (Self-Help) → 5 (Activations) → follow prompts to manage channels.

This menu also lets you rescan your box, check packages, view bill balance, etc.

Dialog TV (DTV) is a direct broadcast satellite pay TV service provider based in Sri Lanka. A fully owned subsidiary of Dialog Axiata PLC, Dialog TV was launched in July 2005 under the name “CBNsat”. It was later renamed to Dialog TV in February 2007 after the company was acquired by Dialog Axiata PLC.

Dialog TV currently has over 1.6 million users. Its main competitors in the pay TV market in Sri Lanka are Dish TV Sri Lanka, which is a subsidiary of Dish TV India, Lanka Broadband Networks (LBN) which provides cable television services in analog and DVB-C in selected areas in Sri Lanka and PEO TV, which is an IPTV platform operated by Sri Lanka Telecom PLC.

How to activate MyTV?

Activation

Type MYTV and send to 678

Once the SMS is sent, customers will receive an SMS with a link which allows the option to either download the mobile application (available for compatible phones only) or to subscribe and watch via a mobile web interface (available for compatible phones only)

Deactivation:

Customers must visit the subscription option located under settings (in both the Application and Mobile web interface based service) or type Off<space>MyTV and SMS to 678

How to add DTV

  1. Open the Dialog ViU App.
  2. Go to ‘More’ section & click on Account Settings.
  3. Click on DTV Account.
  4. Tap ‘+’ icon to Add your DTV Account.
  5. Type your DTV account Number.
  6. Enter the OTP that you received via SMS to reconfirm the account number.
  7. Your DTV Account added successfully!
