How to Activate Apple Card | Steps to Activate

Activating your Apple Card depends on whether you have the physical titanium card (and its packaging) or just the digital card on your device.

1. Activate the Physical Titanium Card

The method depends on whether you still have the card’s original packaging.

Option A: With Packaging (Easiest)

  1. Unlock your iPhone.

  2. Hold the top of your iPhone near the packaging (look for the wireless signal icon on the folder).

  3. A “Activate Apple Card” button should pop up on your screen.

  4. Tap it and your card is ready to use.

Option B: Without Packaging (Manual Activation)

If you threw away the packaging, do not worry. You can activate it manually through the Wallet app:

  1. Open the Wallet app on your iPhone.

  2. Tap your Apple Card.

  3. Tap the More button (three dots ... or the card icon) in the top-right corner.

  4. Tap Card Details (look for the i icon or the card number icon).

  5. Scroll down to the “Titanium Card” section and tap Activate Your Card.

  6. Select “Having trouble activating your card” and then “Do Not Have Card Packaging.”

  7. Follow the instructions to complete activation.

2. Activate on an iPad

If you manage your Apple Card on an iPad instead of an iPhone:

  1. Open the Settings app.

  2. Scroll down and tap Wallet & Apple Pay.

  3. Tap Apple Card.

  4. Scroll down to the “Titanium Card” section and tap Activate Your Card.

  5. Follow the onscreen steps.

3. Activate the Digital Card

You actually don’t need to “activate” the digital card separately. Once your application is approved and you accept the offer, the card is automatically added to your Apple Wallet and is immediately ready for use with Apple Pay.

If you don’t have the Apple Card packaging

If you don’t have the packaging that your titanium Apple Card arrived in, follow these steps to activate your card:

  1. Open Wallet on your iPhone and tap Apple Card.
  2. Tap the more button .
  3. Under Physical Card, tap Activate Your Card.
  4. Tap “Having trouble activating your card.”
  5. Tap Do Not Have Card Packaging, then follow the instructions on your screen.

Request a replacement card

If a card is lost, damaged, or stolen, you should lock the card, then request a replacement card. You can also chat with an Apple Card specialist. If you’re a participant under 18, ask the account owner or co-owner to request a replacement card for you.

To change the name on your titanium Apple Card, first chat with an Apple Card specialist, then request a new card.

On iPhone

  1. Open Wallet on your iPhone.
  2. Tap Apple Card.
  3. Tap the more button .
  4. Scroll down to Physical Card and tap Request Replacement Card, then follow the instructions on your screen.
