How do I set up and connect my Stream TV? Stream TV – Set up Device

The steps below apply to the original Stream TV, which can be identified by the Ethernet port on the back of the device.

Before you start, confirm you have:
  • a Wi-Fi internet connection.
  • a Google (Gmail) account.

If you don’t already have a Google account or have trouble logging in, visit this Google site for help.

Stream TV – Set Up Device

    • Connect the HDMI cable from your Stream TV to your TV.
    • Connect the power cord from your Stream TV to an electrical outlet.
    • Turn on your TV.
    • Set your TV to the correct HDMI input. Refer to the TV manufacturer for help verifying HDMI input.
    • Pair your Stream TV Voice Remote . If your Stream TV Voice Remote is not available, the device must be set up using a wired connection and the Remote Control app .
    • If prompted, select Begin to set up your remote to control the volume on your TV then follow the on-screen prompts. Utilize 5-way navigation pad on the remote to highlight and the center (OK) button to select. To skip, press the Back button on the remote twice.
    • From the ‘ Quickly set up your TV with you Android phone?’ screen, do one of the following:
      ports on back of device
    • Skip, to setup manually

    • Tap Continue

    • On your Android Phone, open the pre-installed app Google.

    • Type or say, “Ok Google, set up my device”.

    • Tap Stream TV on the list and verify the code displayed on your TV.

    • Select the Wi-Fi Network your Android Phone is connected to.

    • If prompted, from the ‘Copy to your new device?’ screen, select cancel or Copy
    • If prompted, Verify your identity (pin, passwork, etc…).
    • Select the Google account you wish to add.

    • From the ‘Almost done!’ screen, select Close.
  • From the ‘Select your Wi-Fi network’ screen, select the desired Wi-Fi network.
  • Enter the Wi-Fi password and select then select the Enter icon Enter icon.

  • If necessary, wait for your Stream TV to install system updates. This takes a few minutes and your device will restart multiple times.
  • If prompted, select OK from the ‘A remote control software update is available’ screen.

    Firmware update may take a few minutes. If prompted, select OK from the ‘Your remote control software is up to date’ screen.

  • From the ‘Sign in to your Verizon account’ screen, do one of the following: information then select

    Sign in : If you select ‘Skip’, you can sign in to your Verizon account at a later time.

Sign in using your phone or computer

  • If you’re connected to a Wi-Fi network that features host isolation (e.g., guest networks, etc.) sign in using your remote.
  • Make sure your device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Stream TV.
  • On the phone or computer, open a web browser and go to https://stream.verizon.com/activate. If using a smartphone, scan the QR code shown on the TV screen with a QR code reader.
  • Enter the code shown on your TV screen on the website where prompted.
  • If prompted, enter your My Verizon User ID or mobile number and Password, then select SIGN IN.

Sign in using your remote.

  • Select Use remote instead.
  • Enter your My Verizon User ID or mobile number then select the Enter icon.
  • Enter your My Verizon password then select the Enter icon.

13. If prompted, enter the answer to your secret question then select Continue.

14. Review the Terms of Service, End user license agreement, and Privacy policy then select Accept all.

15. From the ‘Name your device’ screen, select the desired name then select Continue.

  • Name is selected when circle to the right is white.

16. Review the ‘Get more from your Stream TV with Google’ screen select Continue.

17. From the ‘Make the most of your TV’ screen select Sign In then do the following:

  • If you select ‘Skip’, you can add a Google account at a later time.
  • Enter your Google account email address then select the Enter icon.
  • Enter your Google account password then select the Enter icon.

18. From the ‘Google Terms of Service’ screen select Accept.

19. From the ‘Google Location’ screen select Yes.

20. From the ‘Google Help improve Android’ screen select Yes.

21 From the ‘Install additional apps’ screen, select (check) any desired apps then select Continue.

  • Choose ‘Install all of the following apps’ to select all the apps on the Recommended list.

22. Press the Center (OK) button to view each of the ‘Features of your device’ screens and to exit set up.
