TV Display activation gives Hoopla Admins the ability to control Hoopla TV Channels remotely with the click of a button. It also provides security for your Hoopla TV Channels and enables authorized TVs, determined by the Admin, to play a Hoopla TV Channel.

We recommend you use a Hoopla TV Kit for best performance, but we also support a few hardware configurations including a Windows PC, Macintosh, or Chromebook with 4 gigs of RAM. Check our supported hardware devices.

Step 1: Setting up your Device on the TV

  1. Make sure that the device is connected to the proper port on the TV and both are powered on.

  2. If you have a Hoopla TV Kit, you will see the below activation screen displayed. On other laptops, open a Chrome browser window and enter tv.hoopla.net in the address bar to get to the activation screen.

  3. Take note of the unique activation code shown at the bottom of the screen.

  4. Leave activation screen up on the TV and go to the computer you use to access Hoopla.

Step 2: Activating your Device within Hoopla

  1. From the computer you normally use to access Hoopla. Use the URL provided: hoopla.net/activate, or navigate to Configure > Channels and TV > TV Displays and click Activate.

  2. Enter the activation code provided and name your display. Best Practice: TV Display names should be named based on location so the TVs are more easily identified.

  3. After your TV display has been named, click Submit.

  4. Use the dropdown to choose the channel you want to broadcast on the TV and click Save.

If you’re using a laptop as your device, be sure adjust your Chrome browser settings:

  1. In the Chrome toolbar, click View > Enter Presentation Mode to go full-screen.

  2. Ensure that the computer’s settings are adjusted to avoid the computer or display from going to sleep.

  3. To ensure audio plays, you will have to whitelist Hoopla in the Chrome Sound Settings. Instructions for whitelisting can be found in the Audio Troubleshooting article.

View TV Display Status in Hoopla

In Configuration > TV Displays, you can see at a glance which displays are streaming their assigned Channel.

  • A green animated icon indicates an actively-streaming Channel

  • No icon will be present for devices without an assigned Channel

  • A gray icon indicates that the assigned Channel is not streaming

How to Activate Hoopla TV Channel on Roku

If you have Roku at your home and want to activate HOOPLA TV on your Roku then you need to follow the steps given below:-

  1. Switch on your Roku device and go to the Roku home screen.
  2. Next, go to channels store, and in the search bar type HOOPLA TV and hit enter.
  3. Then click on the “HOOPLA TV”, and select the “Add channel” tab. The Hoopla TV Channel will currently be recorded on your Roku’s home screen.
  4. Next, Launch the Hoopla TV Channel on your Roku, and you will get an activation code on your screen. Make sure that you write it down.
  5. Then use your cell phone or any other device and visit hoopla.net/activate to get the verification code on your mobile number or email address, whichever works best for you.
  6. Next, to access the HOOPLA TV, you will need to “Sign In” by visiting hoopla.net/activate Roku, and enter the code that appeared earlier on the screen, at that point sign into your HOOPLA TV account.

How to Activate Hoopla TV Channel for Amazon Fire TV via hoopla.net/activate

The steps to activate HOOPLA TV for Amazon Fire TV via hoopladigital.com/link are given below. So, feel free to take a look at them.

  1. First, open your Fire TV and download the HOOPLA TV app on it.
  2. Next, launch the app on your device, and go to the settings.
  3. Then, find HOOPLA TV and select the device you are activating it on.

How to Activate Hoopla TV Channel for Apple TV

  1. First, start your Apple TV, and go to the Apple App Store.

  3. Now launch the App and sign in to your HOOPLA TV Application, you will see the activation code on your TV screen alongside the guidelines for the activation.
  4. Once you have the activation code, open hoopla.net/activate into your mobile or computer.
  5. Next, on the given page enter the activation code in the given field and select Continue, follow the ongoing instructions.
  6. Once the activation is complete, use your mobile number to complete the HOOPLA TV application.

Hoopla TV Channel activate on PS4

To activate the HOOPLA TV app on your PS4 you need to follow the given procedure:

  1. First, go to your PS4 home screen > TV > video option.
  2. In case you do not have HOOPLA TV on your device yet. Then go to the Playstation store and download the HOOPLA TV App from there.
  3. Now select your TV provider from the drop-down menu, and then you will get the activation code.
  4. Now visit hoopla.net/activate from your mobile, and enter the activation code on the given fields.

Activate Hoopla TV Channel on Xbox

Here are the steps to activate the HOOPLA TV on your Xbox:

  1. Open your Xbox, search for HOOPLA TV and download the App on your device.
  2. Now go to the Xbox menu and click on the “Activate Channel”.
  3. Now select your TV provider from the drop-down menu, and then you will get the activation code.

Now visit hoopla.net/activate from your mobile, and enter the activation code on the given fields.
